SCHAEFFER - SIPPEL I was wondering if I could enter a mystery picture hoping somebody could identify the people in it. Since I can only identify my uncle Clarence Schaeffer in the first row, third from right, and my grandmother Clara Sippel Schaeffer, second row far right in the plaid dress, we wonder if it was taken at a church gathering, as there are no other relatives in the picture we know of. My grandmother attended both the Ebenezer Church and the Loraine Church, and lived near the Loraine church when this was taken, I am guessing about 1918 or 1919. So thank you if this is possible. www.tampicohistoricalsociety.com tahs@thewisp.net
WHIPPLE? WINSLOW? I recently came across an old photo of Michael S. Whipple in front of a Repair Shop (possibly in Normandy ILL) and also a photo of Bernerd Whipple (born in Greenville Twrp, Bureau county), and one of Wyanet's main street, and along with these post cards was an elderly couple who are very likely Whipples, or maybe Winslows. It had no identification. I have attached it and am so hoping you could you post it as a mystery photo for people of the area to identify? Submitted by L. The middle lady is believed to be Sarah Lane Winchell, wife of Jacob Winchell and daughter of Benjamin Lane. Does anyone know who the other two ladies are? MLT
