(1872-1901) U.S.Army Spiked & Plumed Helmets
Between 1872 and 1901, summer cloth covered cork helmets in blue, tan or white with either a gilted spike or a horse hair plume with buttons, a chain, a helmet plate, hooks, etc. White clothe helmets were meant to be without a spike, plume, helmet plate or other adornment, often this was ignore and adornments were added despite regulations.
