17:42 - Despite two attempts I was unable to get round Etale because of the wind, so I turned back and got a good climb off the south end of the Aravis

18:00 - Finally above the ridge - my GPS batteries were flat but I estimate my speed north at less than 10km/h - I notice gust fronts on the lake!
18:22 - I got close to Tournette before the wind stopped me completely so I flew down to the Col de la Forclaz ridge
18:30 - I found that I was advancing at about 10-15km/h so I keep going north, passing the hotel near the Col

18:32 - One of the restaurants at the col (nice view, average food) - I notice that no-one else is flying anywhere in the Annecy valley!
18:36 - Passing over the road to the Mont Min take-off - there are no parked cars!
18:36 - Mont Min take-off is deserted except for one guy who was is packing up
18:43 - Despite the wind it is very boyant in front of Mont Min
18:43 - I climb without turning to 1700m, enough to be able to get back to Planfait - yeah!
18:43 - Even against the wind it will be easy to reach Planfait from here
18:52 - Nine minutes later and I pass above the Planfait take off - I can see Tom's car in the parking and try to top land, but it's too windy and thermic
19:05 - Another rare sight - the landing field at Peroix is completely deserted
19:12 - I was not the only glider flying - incredibly Tom had managed to get to the Pointe Percee and back to Annecy via Thones on a Mac Magus XC that he was testing!
19:22 - Tom lands having flown a 107km triangle. I managed 77km and Aiden got to the Col des Aravis but then turned back and landed near Faverge
