Dr. Lanfranco Aceti is an Artist and Academic who is researching the impact of digital media formats and forms of social networking. His most recent exhibition and art project, THE SCREAM PROJECT 2008, focuses on issues of occupation in virtual spaces. SCREAMS at Neue Nationalgalerie is one of four strands that addresses, through drawings, the visualization of screams to signal displeasure, disappointment, joy and happiness for humanity’s shortcomings and successes.
The collection of drawings moved from paper into the digital has become an art occupation of virtual spaces: “Virtual Squatting” in galleries in London, Paris, New York and Berlin.
Dr. Aceti's research focuses on finding artistic digital platforms to peacefully engage and generate alternative sociopolitical discourses. The SCREAM PROJECT 2008 is curated by John Francescutti. The collection can also be viewed at http://www.myspace.com/lanfrancoaceti
