You get a sense of the distance in the Library from this view of the tracks beneath the reading rooms that is used to deliver the books. At this point we are below the level of the Seine River which is next to the library
The garden in the center of the library that provides light and a sense of nature to the workers and users. It is said a cat lives in this garden that is not accessible to the public. But it is a very elusive cat since few people have seen it.

We were not successful in seeing the "library" cat that is said to live in the garden. But the librarians put out food each day.
