JERRY BUTLER is an art educator, landscape architect, public artist and muralist. He grew up on a small farm near Jackson, and worked as a farmer, factory worker and musician, before winning a scholarship to Jackson State. He was a supporter of Medger Evers and the Civil Rights Movement in Mississippi.
MIKE ALEWITZ was a student leader at Kent State, an eyewitness to the massacre and a leader of the national student strike that followed. He is an agitprop muralist working in the US and internationally.
