Another Perugina Griffin (left) and a plain ol' boring Lion. These are on a different face of the same building I posted earlier.
Griffin, and his Lion brother, zoomed out to show scale.
A fontana in the same plaza as the copper griffin and lion.
Another Goodfeather in the griffin plaza.
Stairs opposite the griffin in the plaza. A common hangout for Italia youth, though this place isn't as hopping in this photo as it usually is. When we walked back from pizza tonight they were tokin up pretty hard and it wasn't tobacchi.
Another "clan symbol" or whatever they are. Apparently Dan is untangling that riddle for us.
4th "clan symbol", opposite the previous one. There is one other that I have seen, which is a blue crest with crossed ropes or chains. I hope to get a pic of that tomorrow if I can find it again.
"Door knob" with button. See blog.
THIS is the iconic griffin of Perugia. Also, man on a horse. He's the man your man could smell like.
This guy is stamped on all the official city stuff, and the Perugina Chocolate logo. "Palace of the Province" reads the slate beneath him.
By the end of our wanderings today we eventually found a place in Perugia that actually LOOKS like a city. With, like, roads and stuff. I was so excited I took a picture.
More "city-like" Perugia, except for this old archway.
Elly looking pretty, near a giant arch.
Massive building with clocktower. The shuttered windows on the pink building to the right might give you some sense of scale.
These funky junk-fish were ALL OVER when we were walking around today. Probably one store in three were sporting one of these, and though made with different junk they pretty much all had this exact shape. No idea why, maybe it is another riddle for Dan to sort out.
Archway in the plaza leading to Hotel Fortuna. Behind is the Hotel Fortuna sign's inviting blue glow.
Night shot of Hotel Fortuna entrance. Back to bed with us! Or at least some American television.
