Sharon and Jessie

Jessie
Older brother (Pii) Kik and I. He's a total crack-up.
Pii Kik's wife and son.
The sign on the left says "Sharp Curve." We seriously drove around hundreds of sharp curves.
And did I mention this place was straight up a mountain? At one point the truck we were in actually had to roll backward down the incline because it lacked the power to make it up the slope.
Feeling a little queasy in the back seat.
Walking to the hot springs.
Pii Kik's kid is cute
People at the hot springs
This, apparently, is a hot springs lifeguard
hanging out at the hot springs. Mom's on the cell phone. Kid's watching the boiling eggs. Dad is looking for a photo op.
Eating as a family.
This food made me sick for about 36 hours after eating it, which is one reason it took a while to post the pictures. The noodles are coming from a dish known as "papaya salad." It's good but also full of uncooked animal products.
This is completely raw pork. NO cooking whatsoever. Apparently it's a treat.
Friends we met at the spring
boiled quail egg. Half peeled
A family.
Cute kid.
This is what the egg boiling looks like.
Older sister (Pii) Jessie.
Sharon at the springs. The water was 82 degrees Celcius in this pool.
This pool was just warm. Sharon's testing it out.
Kids love the hot springs
Lots of flowers grow well by the springs.
Kids playing in the pools.
I guess this gives you an idea of the landscape.
This shows all the people at the springs. We were the only white people there. :) Funny feeling.
Ants eating food left by Thais for the ghosts. Some people believe if you don't share with the ghosts they will bother you.
Jessie was explaining how some people will wai termite mounds.
This is what a lot of people do at the springs.
The nearby creeks are kinda neat.
Pii Kik never stops. He's always going somewhere, talking with big hand motions and laughing. In that order.
I thought this was funny because I'm taking a picture of Pii Kik taking a picture of his son... and someone else in the picture is doing the same thing. I don't know.
The photographer. Not sure what to do with my hands without a camera in it...
This tree was really tall. Trust me.
Pii Kik's wife and son got really sick and had to get out to throw up halfway down the mountain. They decided it would be better if they sat in the back of the truck for the rest of the ride.
Pii Kik going somewhere, talking with big hand motions and laughing. In that order.
The landscape. Taken hurriedly as we were careening down the side of the mountain.
