We started our home improvement project by doing a little painting. We changed the old crazy green bookcases...
...to a new, neutral paint color "Toffee Crunch"
Here's the finished project.
The next job was to tackle the office. More specifically my workspace.
Eeeee! Not an easy feat! Look at that Blackhole!
First I added a new desk and bookshelf combo...
And even wired it with lights. Kitty had to test the structural support of the book shelves.
Hyd's new workspace! A heck of an improvement huh?

The biggest project to tackle was the kitchen. We had some lovely Hunter Green counter tops going on, as well as a wonky stove that was the original appliance from back in the early 80's. Yikes!
Here is a shot of the new stove, and the cleared countertops the day before the new installation.
And here are the new granite countertops! yay! They really lighten the room and pull the whole kitchen together. I was very pleased with the finished result.
Here is a shot of the new sink, which was Jon's favorite part. He picked out the sink and the faucet and was totally excited for it!
Here is the old, icky sink. Do you like my MacGyver red ducktape leaky sink fix? After all the time I spent under that sink fixing shit, that was my "eff this!" slap job fix. haha
yay! Pretty new sink with a faucet that we can actually get pots under and a sprayer that doesn't get stuck in the "on" position and required disassembling to turn "off".
Old icky, buzzing, florescent light.
New spiffy recessed lighting with environmentally friendly bulbs! (there is still a hole from the old light that needs some drywall fixing in this pic)
We also go a new washer and dryer to complete our kitchen upgrades, and here are all of kitty's toys that we found under the washer, dryer, and stove. It was a red pom-pom graveyard under there.
