Wit the gap of clear sky on the horizon it was clear sunset would be amazing. This shot was taken just as the sun was getting low enough to break through.
The sun had just dipped below the horizon and here was the payoff. A beautiful share of orange, magenta, and blue wished goodnight to us all.

Big Sur at Sunset
I love this shot. The airport was mostly empty today because of the ash cloud over the Atlantic. I know the architects of SFO wanted the main international ticketing hall to have the high swooping ceilings to give travellers the sense of flight, and I think they hit a home run. I think this photo captures the look perfectly.
