Moving my boat back from Port Aransas, we stopped at Bridge Harbor in Freeport. The next few shots are from there.
My boat at Bridge Harbor in route back to here. No power and no water. They said they killed 8 rattle snakes that day. Also it was really dark with no lights and I found 4 hungry raccoons in the cockpit at 1:30am

Watergate
Second by water trip back LYC to see my old slip and salvage any dock lines
The boat sunk in an Irwin 38 and this is my slip at LYC if my boat had been there. This boat was to my starboard side. It floated over the dock and came down across 3 slips. Luckily the guy to the port side of me moved his boat also.
My boat slip to the right of the center standing piling.

Brand new just delivered 2 months ago Beneteau 343 I sold. Watergate
Houston Yacht Club is worse than Lakewood. Next 30 shots or so are HYC. Also these shots taken 10-3-08 nearly 3 weeks after the storm.
That Bow sticking out is a Beneteau 361 I sold a few years back
See the sign. Gee they better get this 61 Abeking Rassmussen off the lawn quick!
HYC still, thats the 61 on the lawn. Hard to tell the size from this distance.
Watergate Marina (my office) All pics are of the same marina until caption changes. All the rest of the shots in the album were taken a few days after the storm.

Bnt 46 I sold and no damage but across the dock for boat that sunk
LYC bathhouse
Boat in upper right bow in, IF we had had our boat back in it's slip it was opposite this slip. Fortunately our boat was south in Port A. Our dock is GONE!
Bnt 40 that is usually side tied on the walk out dock to our slip. Now it's on the dock.
Cat 400 I sold-was/is on my dock
That's 49 feet!
I sold this boat once also custom 46 motorsailer. Looks fixable.
Yeah that is Eagle a hundred footer in the background
Thats a new Grand Banks 72'. Totally on the ground
100' half aground half not, Yeah the Eagle has Landed!
Anyone want a cheap Cheoy Lee 66 long range? Needs work
Catalina 34 I sold. Little damage but is 200' from it's original slip and being held up by a it's wing keel and a palm tree
Very little damage to this boat. Even the hull to deck joint is good. No penetrations. The tree did not fare so well.
One of the LYC sheds
Another 60'? footer LYC
Crazy a small rowing dingy comes to rest at the foot of a fully aground 60' footer
All the cabanas at LYC destroyed
Inner harbor at LYC, note the dock to the left is curled up like its the blasting ramp for a jet engine at a test range.
Another car
A dock that looks like a jet engine blast deflector
water line near the the ballroom. Water was figured at 10-12'
Swimming anyone in the cement pond? Bet there is fish in there.

This little 34' boat, Mickey, was sailed around the world by a little old guy, a muscian, who became the oldest guy to circumnavigate. I think he sold her but she's gonna need work now. Still at Clear Lake Marine Center

Nothing left of Piers 10-13 or so at Watergate
Hylas 44 that I sold. Looks bad but boat is totally in tact with no damage. Owner was here when I took this. This is 100' from the water.
Nice hunter with a bent spar and broke keel
Note broke stub on keel on the hunter
Bow of the hylas 44
Poor guy I just sold this boat too last month. She has a broke spar as well and you can tell it that well here but she is between two buildings
That Watergate about pier 5
Wgt Pier 5 also
Our service building needs a little clean up. Only had 10' feet of water in it.
How many flogging loose jibs can you count?
One dealers insurance company paid them to haul the boats out. A 10' surge in the yard refloated them all
Crazy thing is my jet ski here on a floating ramp that had only a 5' available rise stayed where it was. Not sure who's dink that is but it didn't move either and it wasn't even tied down
I believe this was President Bush flying over our office on his way to Galveston
Look closely and see the top of the piling where the scratching stops, that is how close the office came to floating OFF the pilings. Less than a foot. Next photo also.
Back to Lakewood and the rest of the photos are from there. Just too much damage to go see again. We hope and pray that everyone will recover from this.
Tayana 42 at LYC wanted to take a bite out of the dock. Weirdest thing I have ever seen.
OK so I can't get over the car!
I remember seeing this boat as the name was unique and I liked it, but where is Larry's Pal now?
