Les Miniatures de l'Eau 1939
The exhibition 'Les Miniatures de l'Eau 1939' tells about the forgotten 'Exposition Internationale de l'Eau 1939' in Liège, Belgium. 1939 was definitely not the easiest year for such a peaceful event in Europe, but the organization succeeded in participations of both Germany and France. It seemed a succes story. Not less than 5 million visitors passed the entrance gates. But on August 31, 1939, things changed dramatically. The Exposition came to a standstill, after two railway bridges exploded accidently. One day after this disaster the German army invaded Poland. The only option left was to close the Exposition Internationale de l'Eau, months earlier than expected.
In 2010 we began our research to unveil the forgotten Exposition. Les Miniatures de l'Eau 1939 is the first publication of the results. Later, we will publish also an article.
The exhibition is entirely designed and made in our workshop. It is created exclusively by 'upscaled' materials.
