Alaskan Vacation - Day 8

Our first day in Denali we decided to take an ATV tour into the backcountry. We did see a moose cow and several interesting wildlife tracks including the moose, grizzly bear, and lynx. We then had dinner at the Salmon Bake, on the last day of the season for the restaurant.

Alaskan Vacation - Day 7

Photos taken as we departed McCarthy from our stay at Kennicott Glacier Lodge and then along the Denali Highway. The term "highway" here is used to describe a very scenic but hard 120 miles of gravel road. Hunting season for caribou and moose opened on Sept. 1st, so not much wildlife viewing was available for obvious reasons. The moose pictured here was seen on the side of the road as we left the Denali Highway and entered the Parks Hwy headed North to Denali National Park.
