Habitation- I suggest a habitable space depends on the occupant - my cat lives comfortably in this box - I wouldnt. It covers what I consider to be main aspects of habitation- Firmness- (solid construction) Comfort- (excessive pillows) Delight - In house home entertainment (wool) I suggest the proposed occupant creates the habitation space by their requirements. - Fred
For my pictue I choose an abandoned building. This is because I feel that empty buildings such as this inhabit many parts of all citys in the UK, including quite a large area near the accommodation in which I am currently staying. -anon

when thinking of habitation, my immediate thought was of the feel of a community and a safe place to live. At my accommodation campus, there is a very strong sence of a homly welcoming atmospheare, so i thought that a good picture would be one of the view across the center of the campus, as most off the students have to walk through this area to reach there rooms. -Anon
The key to habitation is foremost the basic requirements for life - food, water, shelter (the latter represented by my object), and secondly what makes it home. The photo i've taken is of my halls room showing my favourite (and fairly appropriate) poster from home, and the reflection of the typical belongings we surround ourselves with to create a feeling of familiarity. - Sarah Wilson
Fort Dunlop is an old factory inhabited by an new building, which has been designed to fit in the existing shell. Urban splash took the derelict Fort Dunlop factory and made it into an inhabitable office and retail complex. It now house's many people on a daily basis apposed to a few years ago when it was an empty unused space. Anon
Arguably, habitation is another means of representing identity. Hospitals (mainly older hospitals) show a key place where there is an unwillingness to inhabit. Is this reflected within the space? A hospital space is very functional. Comfort is overshadowed with the need of convenience, efficiency and hygiene. The forever transit population is represented in the bareness of the space. There is not a stamp of a specific identity; the space lacks a connection to anyone. - Amber Shipley
The habitation of all the components have to be so that they can run at their optimal temperature and functionality without compromising the form factor of the product design to which they are slotted. If the habitation or 'packaging' of the board was incorrect it would have dire consequences for the product and the consumer who uses it. This gets more extreme when scaling the board down to fit in a mobile phone with increasing demands to be smaller and more powerful the habitation and location of the products must work correctly. This image for me depicts Habitation as I believe Habitation is not the inhabiting of a home or abode but more the state of mind when finding comfort within a space. This is depicted by the homeless man in the image who has no home, however he is still able to find sanctuary within the space he has inhabited - Michael Day
This is what i class as part of habitation, something which I have been bought up with throughout my life which is golf. I see the creativity of golf courses and design of the layout not just for a sport, but as part of the heritage of the country, and as art. -Craig Jones
I decided on the power station in my home town of Rugeley to explore the idea of habitation. This structure can be seen for miles around and completely dominates the landscape making it one of the most recognizable structures in South Staffordshire. Back in the late1950's Rugeley was chosen as an ideal location for the station as it was seen to have good availability of land, water, coal and excellent transport links (infrastructure), which are all good indications of an ideal settlement. Also when I see the cooling towers from miles away it's an indication that I am near to my home my habitat. -Timothy A Rushton
