Tower Ridge on Eel Crag plus a Coledale Circuit.
A wonderful walk in great weather. I started at Braithwaite and followed the mine road to Force Crag before fording Coledale Beck and following the track towards Coledale Hause. We then left the track and headed to the base of Tower Ridge. This was named by Alfred Wainwright and is on the North East (Eel Crag) face of Crag Hill in the North Western Fells. Our walk continued over Crag Hill, Sail, Scar Crags and Causey Pike. After Causey Pike we retraced our steps for quarter of a mile and then took the path dropping down to High Moss from where we climbed Outerside, Stile End and finished by crossing the pass of Barrow Door before climbing Barrow, our last Peak of the Day. Then back to Braithwaite down the north ridge. 10 miles, 3,800 ft of ascent, 1 ridge scramble plus 6 "Wainwrights" and 1 "Birkett" - 7 hours including half an hour for lunch and loads of stops for what was, originally, 180 photos.
