Cycling Khopoli-Dwarkadish Pimpri

Wow.....solo ride up the Old Pune road from Khopoli onwards....fhew.....awesome...missed our regular cycling group on this one. It took around 5 hours to reach Pimpri from Khopoli. Shailesh bought a Btwin Riverside 1 cycle from Decathlon, i was very exited to take it to his house. It was an amazing experience, hats off to those who climb ghats regularly. That ghat will surely make u a humble person, just do it guys. Would love to do it again, not now, after the rains......took some pics, do check them out. Matheran

Thanks to the Birje family, this one was planned. Matheran has to be "the" location to travel to anytime of the year. We started our walk @ 1:00 am and ended it @ 7:00 pm...fhew...that was indeed a long and satisfying walk. We were not able to complete our planned tasks, but then only 2 major points were left for us to explore....next time we will do it. Took some pics on this outing/walk/hike.....do check it out. Mahuli Gad

Thanks Bhupdi for the initiative......only three peoples came on this one, myself, Vivek and Bhupendra. Everything went as we have planned....he he he...it true....everything went as planned. Chota group sukhi group. Only thing we did not do was to explore the fort....may be next time we will do it, cause there is a lot to be seen on this fort. It covers a huge area, as can be seen in the picture clicked inside the temple. Took some pictures, wanted to share it with you. Dhodap

This plan came up @ the 11th hour. Not many came on this trek. myself, bhupya, frank, ravya and kamlesh came on this trek. To reach Dhodap, one has to reach Nashik Rd, from Nashik Rd via ST reach Nashik CBS, from Nashin CBS reach Vadaliboi fata, from Vadaliboi fata reach Dhodhambe and then finally walk to Hatti village. From Hatti village it takes around 2.5 hrs to reach the top of the fort. Dont be late to get back, cause transportation becomes a problem. If the travelling is not taken into consideration its a cute trek. Do check out some of the pics taken on this trek. All pictures have gone through some color correction, please bear with it.

Cycle Ride to Borli

5 peoples made it on this one, Chetan, Jay, Tushar, Manoj and myself. Day 1, route was Thane-Panvel-Vadkhal-Alibaug-Borli (around 130 kms covered); Day 2, route was Borli-Alibaug-Mandwa-Gateway Of India-CST via train back (around 60 kms covered). Lovely experience it was, enjoyed it. Same cant be said about our bums :D Original plan was to go upto Murud and come back, but could not make it till Murud. It was dark when we reached Borli, had to stop there. Took some pics, do check them out. All pics have gone through some color correction, please bear with it.

Ankai Tankai

Ankai Tankai was a last minute plan because the trek to Rajgad Torna was postponed. I read about this place in Nashikchi Durgbharmanti, beautifully described it was. Also the travelling wasn’t complicated, hence decided on this venue. One has to reach Manmad and from Manmad take a passenger to Ankai station ot Ankai Killa station, from there an easy walk will take you to the fort. Ankai fort is very nicely maintained, most of the construction is still there, in a lot better condition than other forts. Also the Jain caves at the base are an marvel, one has to see them to experience it. If possible do go to this place. I, Shailesh and Pradeep came on this trek. If these two had not showed up, it would have been difficult to go on this trek. We took some pictures, do check them out. All pictures have gone through some color correction, please bear with it.

Kundeshwar-Bhimashankar

Only 5 peoples came on this trek, myself, Sanket, Sushant, Ravi, Chetan. Route taken was, Thane-Kamshet-Jambivali-Kundeshwar-Kusur Plateau-Dhangarwadi (Kusur)-Kusur village-Khandi-Talphewadi-Vandre Khind-Padarwadi-Gupt Bhimashankar-Bhimashankar-Manchar-Vashi-Thane. Last time we did Lonawala Bhimashankar in 5 days, this time it was squeezed it to 2 days. badi nainsafi hai. Ideal time to do this trek would be Sept end and Oct first week. Took some pics on this trek, do bear with them (all have gone through some color correction). Lesson Learnt:- Never trek when you are not feeling well :)

Karnala

This was a trek arranged mostly for bakras (new comers), but the so called pros also enjoyed it. Karnala is a wonderful destination for a one day trek/hike. Now it is very nicely maintained, the best part is the auditing of Plastic bags, bottles etc that a group carries on the fort. If any thing is missing on the way back, they are penalised. This thing should be implemented on all the forts/Sancutaries/National Parks/Gardens all over India :). Also the water tanks have been cleaned, they were never touched for so many years now. Things are changing and changing for good. Karnala has to be the bext eg for that. Rained did not show up, it was a bit hot on the way to the top. But once on the top, a nice breeze and the play of clouds was very entertaining. Took some pics on this trek, do check them out. Harischandra Gad July 12

This time the trekking season has started a bit late....we missed our June date with HG....July brings a lot of rain and clouds and HG was no exception to this. We were engulfed in clouds for the 2 days on top of HG. Anywhere you look u see white wall. Myself, Ravindra Kocharekar and Amol Mahajan went on this trek. Chota group sukhi group. Took the normal route to the top from Khireshwar village. It was a very soothing trek. Took some pics do check them out. Gaav 2012 (June)

Visiting time was from Jun 9 to Jun 14 2012. We expected to find some rain in the village (Raemboli-Deogad) but it was a bit of disappointment. This time we visited the "Tarakarli Beach", nice place it is. There werent much crowd there, very few come here at this period. Do check out some pics clicked on this trip. Nighoj-Potholes

Always wanted to go here, last week saw it again on Bhatkanti. Strange no one turned up for this one...he he he....must have sent the email a lot late. The route aint difficult, reach Kalyan, take any bus going to Alephata, from Alephata take another bus going towards Parner and get down @ Devi Bhoyari Fata, the conductor will help u with this one. From Bhoyari fata take another transport to Nighoj village. From here the potholes are another 3 kms away. Another route will be to take a direct bus to Nighoj village. Chavand Kukdeshwar

It was originally a one night one day trek, but due to some miscalculations it turned out to be a one night one day one night trek. The travelling time was much more then what we had anticipated. We wanted to get down the Naneghat but just could not do it. We can always try that next time. Chavand is a beautiful fort with some amazing views in Shayadris, also it have several tanks on its top. Kukdeshwar is another place that one should not miss, this temple in its old days must have been a master piece. Once the restoration is completed it might get back to its old beauty. Dombivali Cycle Ride

Shaitan and myself went to Bhupdi's house to meet Amrya and Bhupya. Morning time went from the Mumbra bypass - Shilphata - Dombivali. Return journey from Mumbra old road. Malang Gad

6 peoples made it on this trek. By no means this was an easy trek. Some patches are very very thrilling, enjoyed it a lot. One has to board a bus going to Haji Malang from Kalyan St Depot. From Kalayan St Depot the bus takes us to the base in 40 minutes. From the base to the Haji Malang dargah it takes around 1 hour 45 minutes. Just before the Dargah there is a small exit on the right, this will take us to the top of Malang Gad. It takes another 45 minutes to reach the top (Ballekilla). Kalsubai

Mt. Kalsubai, wow......16 people came on this trek. The weather was cool, and the climb was easy. Many new members were there but they made it easily to the top and back to the base in one piece. Hats off to Jay's daughter Dristhi, this little one will go a long way in the world of treks. We started the climb @ 11.30 am, reached the top at around 3:30 pm. Started our descend @ 4:15 pm reached the base @ 6:30 pm. It was a long day for everybody, but everyone enjoyed it. Clicked some pics, do have a look. Dahanu

Three days in Dahanu......thanks to Tushar, it was a wonderful outing. Dahanu is a wonderful place to hangout. Its a quite town, the beach is beautiful...one can say its quite isolated. If someone wants to spend quite time, he/she should visit this place. There are many hotels there, but do try out Hotel Beach Classic for the for, its wonderful. Manikgad

October has to be the best time to get out and have some fun.....this time we decided Manikgad. From Thane reach Panvel, from Panvel board the train to Vashivali. Get down at the last stop and walk towards Manikgad. From Karjat side, reach Chowk...from Chowk reach Lohap, from Lohap reach Vashivali and then the walk to the top. It takes around 3 hours to reach the top. No water is available as such on the top, but one can find water on the way. Myself, Bhupya, Shaitan, Shailesh, Jay and Kapila wahini came on this trek. Chavand-Naneghat

Chavand Fort.....its a lovely fort to see. October is not the perfect time to visit this place cause the grass has fully grown and its nearly impossible to look around the fort. Next time we'll plan little better. To reach Chavand, first reach Junnar. From Junnar take the ST to Ghatghar and get down @ Chavand bus stop. From Chavand bus stop, the Chavand village is around 1.5 kms. From the village its takes around 45 minutes (max) to reach the top. Getting down can be much faster :). From Chavand we boarded another vehicle to Ghatghar, luckily he dropped us near Naneghat. Got back by descending Naneghat. The travelling time is a lot if one is travelling from Kalyan. Sindolya (incomplete)

Sindolya, also known as Sindhubai cha dongar by the locals is a wonderful hike for a days outing. The route at the very end gets a lot slippery and due to an open traverse we did not attempt to complete this one, but will surely do it in the month of May. We started from Kalyan by taking a bus going to Nagar. Got down @ Pargaon phata. From here walked to "Bagadwadi" village from where there are trails to this mountain. We had a very good guide, Tushar Bhoir. He guided us very nicely but towards the end we could not go for the final climb....ne ways the view was amazing all around us......do check out the pics (all of them have undergone some kind of color correction, please bear with that).

Karnala

18 bakras made it to this one (16 full and 2 half), wow....that was fun. Karnala is a perfect getaway for a one day trek/hike...whatever you call it. The weather was pleasant, it was raining much....it was there only in bits and pieces.....but perfect for the hike. We made it to the top in around 2.5 hours....same time to get down too....everyone made it in one piece to the base. We did take some pictures...sorted out some and did some very bad color correction on them....do have a look!!!!

Gambhirnath Caves

Hrishi found all the info required to reach Gambhirnath Caves. The plan was to reach Karjat, take any engine and reach Monkey Hills, from Monkey Hills walk towards Karjat for 4 kms and reach Gambhirnath caves. We did a mistake of taking Indrayani express....this train does not halt at Monkey Hills, we went to Lonawala and from there took Deccan and got down @ Monkey hill. The train stops here for only 30 seconds or something...please make it fast out the train. From here on enjoi the tracks and the greenery around you. Be careful for the trains, cause it gets tricky to spot a train on the curves. It was a wonderful hike, enjoyed it thoroughly....thanks a lot Hrishi for arranging this one. YHAI Family Camping 2011, Seobaug

Only three families came for this event :(. Satam, Salunke and Shinde made it for this one. We had planned it from 6th June 2011 to 14th June 2011. The route was Mumbai-Delhi-Kullu-Seobagh base camp. On the camp we met two wonderful people...with whom we spent most of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th day of the camp. Dilip Jadav and Hemlata Jadav from Rajkot, Gujrat. They were an inspiration for us...cause age never came in there way for enjoying the beauties of nature. We did click some pics, sorted as few for you guys to have a look into...All pictures have been modified for some color adjustments (sometimes its over the top). Do have a look.

Cycling to Panvel

Awesome work Bhupya, our Cycling leader. The plan was to go to Karnala...myself, Shaitan, Anurag started from Thane, Bhupya joined us @ Koparkhairne....due to some technical problems (Bhupya had some probs with his speedometer)...he caught us @ CBD...awesome rider he is....super stamina vala hai voh......we reached Panvel at around 9.00 am.....we thought thats it, it will be difficult to go back if we tried to go to Karnala...hence started back from Panvel itself....on our way back came from Taloja, Sheelfhata, Mumbra, Thane. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4398087

Holi time.....it means it was a full moon...(this time it was a supermoon)....perfect time to do a night trek. 10 of us started the trek, 4 went back on Saturday morning itself....awesome effort by those 4. Hike from Yeoor (Patonipada) to Chenna Creek, this was on the cards for quite sometime now...finally it materialized today...thanks Hrishi for the initiative. Sarasgad

Myself, Shaitan, Bhupya, Bappa and Sumera came on this trek. I could not make it to the early morning train, but was able to meet the rest of the group at Khopoli ST depot....lucky me....From Pali it takes around an hour to reach the top of the fort. 30 minutes to explore the fort, mind you its not it bad shape at all....comparing to some of the other forts....TrekShitiz guys had done wonderful work on this fort. Sanket thanks for making this trek happen, also Shaitan aka Chetan, thanks for bringing the camera (Video Camera).

Kohoj Fort

Only 6 peoples made it this time....myself, Bhupya, Raj, Aniruddha, Prajakta* and Shailesh* came. The route was From Thane boarded a bus to Palghar via Wada and got down at Vaghote village. From Vaghote village the fort can be reached via a nicely arrowed trail in 2 hours. The view from the top are gorgeous.....we could not see much dude to the haze all around. Still it was very beautiful...it should be treat to visit this place during Rainy season....do visit this place if u get a chance....perfect for a one day outing. Thanks Bhupya for bringing your mobile on this trek..without it it would had been difficult for me....do check out the pics if possible.

Kalsubai

Thanks to Ashok for taking all the wonderful pics........ Only 5 peoples came on this trek.....myself, Dolly, Mohan, Swati and Ashok. The route was Thane - Kasara - Ghoti - Bari - Kalsubai - Bari - Ghoti - Kasara - Thane. It was very cold to start with and same thing to end to.....the climb was pretty cool, did not feel the heat of the sun. Once on top, it was like being in an freezer, it got very very cold. SouthTrip Otty Mysore Kanyakumari

The five of us, myself, Hema, Sanket, Shilpa and Bhupya went on the south trip from 29th October 2010 to 07th November 2010. The plan was like this, Thane-Kalyan-Bangalore-Otty-Mysore-Bangalore-Kanyakumari-Trivandrum-Thane. Thanks to Sankets planning everything went about very smoothly. Loved the Medu vadas and Masala Dosas and all those Chicken Biryanis. South of India is very pretty, next time would love to visit Kerala. Clicked some pictures with Bhupyas camera, do have a look. Mahuli Gad

The three of us, myself, Saket and Saumya went on this trek. The conditions were very humid, that made climbing a very tough task...the speed wasnt great but we did manage to see quite some spots. Get down at Asangaon station, walk on the tracks towards Kasara, when u get to the unmanned crossing (25 minutes) take the tar road on the left. Mahuli village is another 40 minutes from here. From Mahuli village it is a lovely hike up the fort. Arrow marks makes sure that you do not get lost. Some clicks by myself and Saket, do check them out.

BoriwadeFalls_Patonipada_Yeoor

The four of us decided to go the jungle of Yeoor. Raj as usual came in late :(.....the morning was great, it was a bit misty...but as the sun baked us the mist disappeared. The dew was pretty huge, it made us all wet and kept us cool. Satara-Mahabaleshwar

Two days, fullto fun. Went to Satara and Mahabaleswar. Did not want to miss an opportunity to travel in September. The plan was as follows, Friday (24th) night board the bus to Satara, 25th Morning (Saturday) check out, Satara (Kaas, Sajjangad, Thoseghar, Ajinkytara, Natraj temple) and on 26th (Sunday) check out Mahabaleshwar. Return journey Sunday night. Everything went well, the atmosphere was very nice, check out some of the pics taken on this trip.

Thanks to Tushar (by brother-in-law) we got a booking at Mahindra's guest house. This time we (Somoshi family, Jogle family and Satam family) were there for 4 days. It was typical sharwan atmosphere, the play of sunshine and rain. Matheran is very beautiful and the combination of "Shrawan" made it even more gorgeous. Thanks to Shailesh and Tushar for letting me use their camera's, i was able to click some pics. Do check them out.

Ahupe Bhimashankar (3rd time)

This time we did complete this trek. We walked every inch of it :D. This was always going to be a long trek, but we decided to halt at Kondhawal village, that would had eased some of the workload on our legs. The route was as follows, Thane-Kalyan-Murbad-Mhasa-Khopivali-Ahupe-Kondhawal-Bhimashankar-Ganesh Ghat-Khandas-Karjat-Thane. Only 5 peoples made on this trek (this was much more then expected number) still a manageable number. Everyone cooperated and made this trek a wonderful exp. The descend from Bhimashankar was very memorable because of the heavy rains. When it rains that heavily one can see what nature is all about, its awesomeness comes out nicely. Not many times does one come across so many waterfalls. Go through the pics, u might enjoi them.

Splendour Country Resort

Shailesh and Vanita took us out on 14th to Splendour Country Resort. It is located at a very beautiful location, just near the Khadakwasla backwater. It has some of the best views, lots of space to have fun (play, swim, relax). Kothaligad (Peth)

Sunday was decided for this trek. Normally its a Saturday for us but this time most of us wanted it to be shifted to a Sunday. Thanks to Hrishi and Amit everything went well. To reach Peth, one has to reach Karjat, from Karjat reach Ambivali and from Ambivali the trek/hike starts. 10 peoples made it on this trek. Its not a very straining trek, its kind of a very comfortable one. Anurag and Hrishi clicked all the pics, i have uploaded some of those do have a look.

Tandulwadi

Myself, Sanket and Bhupya came on this trek. As expected it did rain for the entire length of the time that we were out on the fort and around it. We started by boarding the 5.37 am shuttle from Dombivali to Dahanu Road. It reached Saphale at around 7.40 am. From Saphale we took a ST bus to reach Tandulwadi village and from that village it takes around 1.5 hrs to reach the top of the fort. On the fort it was very windy and the rain was very heavy. It was very difficult to look straight at the horizon at times. Awesome rains........it did stop for a while, and when it stopped the view around the fort was magnificent. Clouds were racing at quite some speed, amazing nature. We were able to click some pics, do have a look. Thanks Bhupya for letting me use your camera :)

Gorakhgad

This time there were 11 members on this trek. Myself, Bhupya, Sanket, Anurag, Pradeep, Chandan were joined by new comers Raj. Abhijit, Atul, Bharat and Sandeep. Gorakhgad is a small hill fort. i guess it must have been a watch tower. To reach Gorakhgad one has to follow the following route, Thane-Kalyan-Murbad-Mhasa-Dehri, Dehri is the base village and it takes around 2 hours to reach the caves on the fort. The trek is very simple for the exp ones. For the first timers its a kind of thrill cause one has to negotiate the rock craved steps, it one is afraid of heights then this can get very very difficult for him. Do check out the pics, the weather was very pretty. While getting down it rained a bit and that was enough for some to start panicking...enjoi some of the pics :) . Went to Matheran for 5 days. Matheran in rains becomes an magical place, only thing that one needs to get adjusted is the cold conditions. i had lot of trouble adjusting to the rain and cold (najuk prani). We did visit some more points this time, do check out some of the pics.

Harishchandra Gad

Another season opener with HG. The weather was very nice, well it did not rain at all. It only rained in the night. Myself, Ashok and Vivek made it on this trek. We climbed up the fort from the Tolar Khind route and got down via the Rajmarg aka, Nedachi vaat. As always it was a pleasure going to HG, it was not at all crowded. The show of light and thunder in the night time was amazing, cannot forget that huge thunder. Took pictures with my Kodak KB 12. Do check them out.

Sinhagad with Annette and Rick

This was Annette's first visit to India. We wanted to show her a part of India's history. Also due to the heat wave in Mumbai, we decided Pune would be a good option. It was decided that we would visit, Sinhagad, Shaniwarwada, Lal Mahal, Katraj Snake park etc. I guess we should have gone to Shaniwarwada and nearby places first, but we wented to Sinhagad first. We took them without giving them any chance of taking rest. We were not able to make the entire plan successful though........ Pune was not as humid as Mumbai is and hence it was kind of cool. Took some pictures thanks to Rati for letting me use her camera. Sachin, Sanket, Rati accompained with Rick and Annette. If possible do have a look at some of the pictures.

Pooja-Jagran at Shiroli

We had been to Shiroli to attend Satyanarayan Pooja and Jagran at my wifes native place. I had never seen what a "Jagran" is, but its kind of fun. Its a show, kind of orchestra were 4 to 5 guys educate people about their religion, gods and their roots. The sad part is it happens throughout the night.....i could not stay awake to watch the entire thing...my bad. The night was cool and that might have made me sleep i guess, but i simply missed :(. Tungareshwar

Hrishi came up in the morning and said that we were going to Tungareshwar. Wow always wanted to go there, first i thought we'll go on a bike but nope Hrishi had brought his car. It was a no sweat outing. Tungareshwar is a beautiful place, lovely jungles and the vantage point is amazing. It will be quite a site in the monsoons i guess. We followed the following schedule..... 10th March 2010: Dona Paula, Miramar and Cruise @ Panjim. 11th March 2010: Old Church, New Church, Mangeshi Temple, Shanta Durga Temple, Colva beach. 12th March 2010: Aguada Fort, Calangute beach, Baga beach. 13th March 2010: Mhapusa market, Chapora Fort, Wagator beach, Anjuna beach. 14th March 2010: Back to Pavilion. Thanks to Tushar we had a very good time in Goa. The guest house of Mahindra and Mahindra was located at a very beautiful place, Badem. I have uploaded some of the pics, do have a look :)

KuvlyachiWadi-Devgad

This was an inpromptu trip :D. Not much was planned. Myself, Sanket, Ravi, Bhupya, Masters were in it from the start. Sachin's was a kind of late inclusion. We started on 26th Feb and ended it on 02nd March early morning. Plan Thane - Shirgoan - Raemboli - Shirgoan - Deogad - Kunkeshwar - Mithbau - Dhabole - Vijaydurg - Deogad - Bhandup - Thane. We covered nearly 95% of what we decided to do. Everyone clicked some pics, had a very hard time sorting them. Do have a look.......Yeva Konkan aaplach asak!!!!!!

Kamaan Durg (incomplete one)

Bhupya took the initiative this time. Bhupya, myself, Masters, Ravya and Bappa made it on this trek. Going to any place for the first time has its own charm and that to on a trek is "sone pe suhaga" cause when one doesnt know the destination, you cannot get lost...kinda of true. Eventually after 3 and 1/2 hours we did find the correct track, but time was running our as it would have been dark and finding way back would have been a bit difficult. How to reach:- Thane take a bus for Vasai and get down at Chinchoti, from Chinchoti take a rick or St to Kamaan village and from the village walk to Debkudi village (the base village). Hike to the top of the durg. Water tanks are on the top......next time when we'll be up there will give u some more details. Enjoi some of the pics.....

Delhi-Vaishnavdevi-Agra-Delhi_Bhupya

Myself, Hemangi, Sanket, Shilpa, Bhupendra and Pradeep went on the trip to the north from 19th Dec 2009 to 26th Dec 2009. The cold conditions were something that most of us had not exp before. The trek to the holy shrine of Maa Vaishnav Devi was amazing (this was the highlight of this trip). Also "Taj Mahal" is amazing, i would urge everyone who have not been to that place, to go there and see it in person atleast once. It cannot be described. DhakBahiri Cave - Kondeshwar

Myself, Masters, Pradeep, Subhash......went on this trek. I was visiting this place after quite sometime and as always the start of the trek was us getting lost....only thing that was in our favour was we got lost on the plateau.......we did eventually find the correct trail. By the time we reached the cave, the rock was hot. Luckily no one got any burns on their palms. While going back we decided to visit the Kondeshwar temple. The route:- Thane-Karjar-Sandshi-DhakBahiri Cave-Kondeshwar-Jambivali-Kamshet-Sanpada-Thane. Check out the pics.

Lohagad (Iron Fort)

One day treks are always fun. Dani, Sanket, Subhash, Pradeep and myself went on this trek. Hats off to Dani, after that long flight from Romania he had only an hour or so to rest and then he came for the trek. Ratangad

We started our journey to Bandhardara in the evening, the trek started the next morning. The atmosphere was wonderful...it was very pleasant. Ratangad was in clouds, clouds were hanging on to it. It was a wonderful scene. Also yellow shevanti flowers were in full bloom on the fort, as if the fort had a new coat of yellow paint. Treat for the eyes. Myself, Hemangi and Sushant came on this trek. Route:- Thane-Kasara-Shendi-Ratanwadi-Ratangad-Ratanwadi-Bandhardara-Randha Falls-Shendi-Kasara-Thane. I only had my KB-12 hence took only some pics, do check them out.

Raireshwar-Kenjalgad-Kamalgad

Myself, Masters, Ravi completed this trek. Shaitan, Tushar and Ketan completed the first two and did not come for the third one. After many days did an actual "TREK". The climate was perfect, the scenery was out of this world. From Swargate we boarded the bus to Bhor, from Bhor the bus to Korle village. From Korle village a pukka rasta takes us to the trail of Raireshwar. Raireshwar plateau is amazing. In around 2.5 hours reached Kengalgad. The view from the top is amazing. The entire route has arrow marks....just follow them and one wont get lost. From Kengalgad got down to the village Khavali. The "mukamachi" ST took us to the base village Vasole....in the morning climbed Kamalgad. From Kamalgad got down to Vasole village. We managed to miss the 2 pm and 3 pm bus to Vai.....had to walk to Vasihvali village to get a transport. From Vashivali went to Vai, from Vai to Swargate and then back home...Masters thanks for letting me use your camera :)

Hadsar

This was a aaram ka trek, as far as the travelling was concern. Hrishi and Anurag brought their cars on this one.....everything was gonna be easy from there. Only seven people and 2 cars.....badi nainsafi hai......he he. First we reached Junnar and then from Junnar Hadsar is only around 10 kms The road aint bad either. Tringalwadi Fort

Tringalwadi Fort......we started by boarding the second train to Kasara, From Kasara reached Igatpuri Railway station. Take a left turn from the Ram Mandir and take a right after reaching the chowk. First u'll reach Vipasana Centre and the road adjoining it should take us to village of Chandwadi. Hrishi was on the other side of the hill (in Tringalwadi Village). Hence we had to wait for him on the top of the hill near the Bhairoba Temple. The surroundings were lush green, everything was pretty...had a tough time picking the pictures to upload. Shiroli - Palkhi - Lenyadri

Palkhi sohla before Ganpati happens in Shiroli. The procession of Ozar's Ganpati is taken through four villages adjoining this place. On the third day it comes to Shiroli (my wifes village). People walk bare foot for all the 4 days during this procession. This year the crowd was less due to Swine flu and some other reasons, ut still the atmosphere was very electric. The next day we went to Lenyadri. Enjoi some of the pics.

Chikhaldara

We started on 14th August by boarding the Howra Mail from Thane @ 9.13 pm. Chikaldara is a very very pretty place. The weather was very nice, very pleasant (at times it got a bit too cold). It did not rain at all, rains are playing a very bad game with everyone. We had hired a sumo from Paratwada to go around Chikhaldara. Rajmachi

Went to Rajmachi......we were 15 in all. 4 ne tang di...but then thats ok. Names, Sanket, Sachin, Subhash, Pradeep Suryawanshi, Rati, Dolly, Seeta, Shrutee, Aniruddha, Vinakay, Sushant, Amol Kunte, Rajendra, Sumera and myself went on this one. From Lonavala we went, its 19 kms from there but a plain walk. The climate was perfect for such a walk, hence even after walking for around 5 hours didnt feel like it. We visited the lake, old temple, Shrivardhan and Manaranjan forts. We desecded towards Karjat and on our way visited the Kondivade caves too!!!!! Enjoi the pics :)

Khireshwar

Khireshwar, is the base village of Harishchandra Gad. We went there to have our lunch....simple food @ Aishwarya tea stall. Missed Maxim on this one :( Parat jau re jaglya...myself, Pradeep, Sanket and Saumya went on this one. Its a beautiful place.......also...didnt make it to Malshej Ghat, cause we were getting late to go home ;)

Rajgad

Sanket, Bhupya, Masters, Saumya, Pradeep, Subhash and myself went to Rajgad on 27th and 28th June 2009. We expected a lot of rains, but there wasnt any at the base of Rajgad. Rajgad was in clouds for most of the time. Water level had gone down on the fort. Also the water in Padmavati lake wasnt the best this time. Still the place is amazingly beautiful. We went up the fort via Pali Darwaja and came down via the chor darwaja. There were many trekkers on the top, one group did not got to stay in the temple.....for some reason they threw away the shoes and sandals that they found outside the temple. Such a hideous thing to do on the trek. Some of the trekkers had to make their way down without any footwear. Hoepfuly such incidents wont happen again.....It was the charm of Rajgad and the hig spirits of the trekkers that did not dampen their enthu. Everyone enjoyed the trek.

Matheran

We 2, (myself and my better half) had been to Matheran on 9th, 10th and 11th June 2009. Its a beautiful place, if one wants to experience peace do visit this place and "walk" to most of the points. The jungle is beautiful, very well maintained. The trails are very nice....the beauty of Matheran is on its trails. Do visit this place to experience it!!!!!

Harishchandra Gad - Bhupya

Myself, Maxim, Vineet, Abhijeet, Bhupya, Hemant, Lovell, Mahesh and Harish came on this trek. Lovell, Harish and Mahesh Bhai, were trekking with us for the first time. The conditions were not so very ideal for trekking as it was the end of the summer season. Most of us had minor sunburns. We did get to see all the beautiful things that one associates with this beautiful place. Hemants all wishes did come true this time. It was a wonderful exp as always ;)

Jeevdhani Devi, Pankhanda.

One can see a white painted rock as one comes towards Owala on the Ghodbunder Road, on enquiring with the villagers we came to know that its called Jeevdhani Devi. We decided to check it out. Myself, Hrishi and Saket went to explore that place. The trek to the top is quite exciting, will like to go there again in the rains. HAL at the pics. Most of them are clicked by Saket and Hrishi.

Rajgad to Torna

Six of us went on a trek from Rajgad to Torna Gad. We started at 12.30 am on 08th November 2008, first we reached Vajeghar, Pali village and climbed Rajgad in 2 hours. From Rajgad we started at 3.00 pm and stopped at a house in the middle of the route. The food we had their was amazing. In the morning we started at 8 am, at around 10.30 am we reached Budhla machin rock patch. We wasted around 1 hour there and finally reached the Mengai devi temple on Torna at 12.00 pm. Didnt wait there, descended immediately to reach the base village Velhe at 3.00 pm. It was a great experience, Ravi did provide some entertainment.

We all went to kalavantin Durg on a very hot October day........the trek wasnt so hard but the conditions made it not so very easy for us...adding to it was the number of photographers using most of the time...also we did not carry enough water...which made everything very very bad.....but still we managed to pull this one......i enjoyed it ;)....have a look at some of the pics.
