River Code Flooding, Yogyakarta, November 2010
On Monday, 29th November 2010, Code River (Kali Code) that runs through the City of Yogyakarta burst its bank and caused a big floods around the area. The river has been filled with millions of tonnes of material released from Mount Merapi’s recent eruptions. This made the river shallowed, so that when a fairly heavy rain felt Monday the murky water has no choice other than flooding its surrounding area.
