Wat Pah Nanachat Sala Construction 2010
These photos show the taking down and the reconstruction of the main meditation hall ('sala') of Wat Pah Nanachat in all its phases starting from pulling down the old hall on March 18th, 2010 to the first use of the new hall on November 5th, 2010. The building work was guided by Luang Por Liem, the abbot of Wat Nong Pah Pong, and both monks from Wat Nong Pah Pong and Wat Pah Nanachat put all their heart and energy into the work that needed to be accomplished in short time. The laypeople from Bung Wai Village, Warin and Ubon helped with great enthusiasm too. Eventually, in line with Luang Por Liem's constant reminders, the building of the new temple hall for Wat Pah Nanachat at the same time turned out to be just as much the building of community, with all the aspects of selfless sacrifice, applied mindfulness and wisdom broadening the understanding of Dhamma practice beyond the meditation cushion for all helpers involved.
