Phytoremediation in blue tanks. Control (just stalks). Middle (plants but no bacteria). End (plants+ bacteria). Influent was DI+ arsenic from what I could gather, which doesn't seem good for plants. No iron in influent- probably would reduce arsenic more by having natural iron levels. Ends of plants were dry. Plants grown in/on stone chips. Reduction in arsenic was supposed to be 500 ppb-> 256 ppb. No measures of whether bacteria added was still present, outcompeted, etc. No measures of bacteria in effluent. Aim was to have the barrel as personal water source- thus need to check for bacterial contamination, which should be rampant in an open barrel that has plants growing in it without a sand filter at the bottom.
