Antelope County Judge Donna Taylor hosted the Clearwater fifth graders for Job Shadow on May 5. They first observed "real Court" followed by the trial of ‘State v. Bean.’ After running out of time, Judge Taylor went to Clearwater on May 12 to talk about the careers in the legal system and to answers questions.
Clearwater students were surprised by a thief storming through the courtroom to steal the hen as part of ‘State v. Bean.’ Students completed witness statements, describing the thief to demonstrate how difficult it is to remember details during a startling event.
Witnesses to the staged theft on direct examination-- all of the students who witnessed the same event, had very different descriptions of the thief.
