Preparing for launch

Launch
Heading down the upper harbor, through the marina area.
Outside the narrows, heading for rendezvous with Prentice
Prentice Stout talking about the history of the pond.
Limulous is the latin name for the horseshoe crab.
Heading south to meet up at the oyster farm.
Prentice wrote after the event... Dear Art, Thanks for your nice message about Saturday's events. It is I who thank you. Patty and I have have been privileged to film the great elephants of the Okovango Delta, witness 200,000 breeding pair of King Penguins at St. Andrew's Bay, South Georgia Island, and record the massive colonies of gannets in Labrador. But nothing was more moving, nor will be more memorable, than the folks who paddled that colorful armada of kayaks through the Narrows on Saturday. It brought tears of sheer joy to these old eyes. What you all have done to encourage public interest in the ponds is grand indeed. I was honored to be part of that celebration.
On to the southern most point on our trip and a chance to stretch our legs on a small island.
Now that's a Limulous! This paddler is a teacher and was looking forward to taking the shell to class to help talk about the horseshoe crab facts we learned from Prentice.
Back at the launch and loading up.
Back at Marina Park we had a mobile display on tide pools and sustainable use of the seas.
Our route down and back. Two mile each way.
