NHB Museums Trail - Singapore Art Museum (17th August, 2011)

The final stop of my museums trail for the day, and sadly the most uninteresting. Perhaps it is because I'm not that artistically inclined, I wasn't able to appreciate most of the things on display. I only took 15 minutes to complete my walk through the 2 buildings. Not somewhere I'll recommend personally, but since admissions is free, you might as well just zip through. If you're in a rush, then you can forego this without too much regrets.

NHB Museums Trail - Singapore Philatelic Museum (17th August, 2011)

The next stop of my museums trail was the Singapore Philatelic Museum. I collected stamps when I was studying. In fact, I still have a pile of stamps lying that I've not found time to organize. However, people generally rely more on electronic means of communications nowadays. Less and less people are sending postal mail. That also means less chances of coming across nice stamps to collect. The Singapore Philatelic Museum tells of the history of stamps in Singapore and across the world in a fun and lively way. Currently, there's a "Dr. Sun Yat Sen: The Man Who Changed China" exhibition which I found really interesting. A good place to spend a couple of hours with the kids.

Our first visit to the newly opened Korean casual dining restaurant located at the basement of Suntec City Tower 3/4. Nice decor and good ambiance. Refreshing menu at relatively reasonable pricing.

Esplanade - Merlion Park (29th December, 2009)

I happened to be near the Esplanade so I decided to take some pictures from the L4 Sky Garden, followed by a walk over to the Merlion Park nearby. The Singapore River is “littered” with white-colored “beach-balls”, fondly known as “wishing spheres” which have been a New Year tradition in Singapore for the past 5 years. They are said to carry with them the hopes of the community for the New Year. It was almost evening, and the sky was threatening to literally “rain on my parade”. So apologies in advance if the photos look kinda “gloomy”. :p

CSPL Inter-Department Group Lunch - Pearl River Palace (20th October, 2009)

With $200 worth of restaurant vouchers remaining from our last meal, plus the generous contribution of $100 restaurant vouchers from Racheal, our group makes a 2nd trip to Pearl River Palace.

House of Sundanese Food (22nd Februrary, 2009)

After seeing a picture of their speciality BBQ fish at the entrance of the restaurant, Mom and I decided to give this Indonesian restaurant a try. We settled on the set meal for 2 persons, which consists of the BBQ fish we saw earlier, curry chicken, fried kangkong, and buffet style fruits and deserts. We left the restaurant very very satisfied. :)

Mom and I made our second visit to this Indonesian restaurant, although this time we chose to go to a different outlet. Since we'd already had some coffee and muffins at Gloria Jeans prior to this, we decided to go light and so we ordered less than we did the last time. Nonetheless, it was certainly a meal well enjoyed! :)

CSPL Software Dept Lunch - Pearl River Palace (9th January, 2009)

After a LONG wait of more than a year, our department of 10 finally get to enjoy a sumptuous lunch together. Armed with S$350 worth of restaurant vouchers, we were determined to make the best of our budget and eat ourselves silly. Naturally, with all the good food available, we eventually lost control of ourselves and exceeded our budget by S$41.45. (Total bill: S$391.45)
