Walt Disney Concert Hall

Frank Gehry's Walt Disney Concert Hall is truly a sculpture. Originally designed something like twenty years ago in stone, the facade was changed after the success and popularity of Gehry's Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain. A couple of weeks after taking this tour of the outside, I went in for an amazing concert experience. Unbelievable sound.

Caltrans Building

The Caltrans District 7 Headquarters in downtown Los Angeles was designed by architecture firm Morphosis. The sustainable, urbanistic, cutting-edge, and beautiful building helped Thom Mayne win the Pritzker Prize (the world's highest honor for architecture). This is a building owned and operated by the state of California, yet it's surprisingly inviting to the public (unlike Gehry's concert hall).

Palace of Fine Arts, San Francisco

This is the only remaining structure from the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition (a world's fair), located in what is now known as The Presido. It was the Palace of Fine Arts, and the scale is unbelievable. I had always wanted to go here since I'm fascinated by World's Fairs, their architecture, and their legacy.
