Ryan and Kristin arrive in Santa Cruz. This Subaru has been their home for almost 2 years.
The fire is going and the beer is cold. We're ready for a party.
Kristin travels with a modified trials bike for close quarters type fun. She was letting anyone go for a spin. Beer and trials. The yin and yang of balance.
Teach a Kid Trials Riding
Teaching our girl the essence of night riding on a rope swing
Group ride at Wilder. Ryan in the parking lot talking to mountain bikers. A bum ankle prevented him from riding trails in Santa Cruz. It must have been frustrating but he has a great attitude. At least this gives him an opportunity to do a meet and greet in the Wilder parking lot.
Great bikes and fast women. I love this sport.
Bicycle bear has been on some of the best single track in California. From Santa Cruz to Lake Tahoe. From Santa Rosa to Monterey.
A strong group of riders. No true beginners on this ride.
Steep hill climb with trail-a-bike. The pay off from all the single speeding.

10th Anniversary Party at Seabright. We rode critical mass style to the brewery.
Happy mountain bikers. Please note that it's my beer in front of Jade and not hers. She would have nothing to do with Oatmeal Stout.
BBQ appetizers for hungry mountain bikers. The $5 pitchers of home brewed beer was a huge hit and ensured that it was a happy crowd. The Oatmeal Stout was freshly brewed within the past week.
Charlie Meehan our very generous host and a proud supporter of Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz.
Enjoying the beer and conversation.
Shiela, Sebastien and Daryl. Loyal supporters of local advocacy.
Buel and his old skool mbosc T-shirt
We were honored that Bud and Emma McCreary attended our party. The McCreary's have built most of the trails in this county and they have been a huge proponent of multi-use trails.
Caroline introducing El Presidente
Awaiting the message from the President
El Presidente with the Jade the MBOSC mascot. Recognizing all the great people who have built mbosc at the beginning. Keith Kelsen, Geoff Smith, David Baskin, Doug Landaur, Don Carol, Mark Woodhead, Dawn Weathersbee, Caroline Murphy.
The future of mbosc will leverage the great work from IMBA California. We recognize the importance of Tom Ward and IMBA CA to create more riding opportunities for mountain biking in California. We support IMBA California.
Paid to the order of IMBA California from Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz the sum of $3000. Memo: "Free the Trails"
Tom gives a speech talking about the work he is doing for all California mountain bikers. He has been engaged on issues which impact mountain biking in Santa Cruz County and he will continue to do that.
A riveted crowd
Buel the "head cheerleader" gets the crowd going after Tom mentions opening trails in Fall Creek and Big Basin. Bud is looking a little cautious.
Krisin discussing the potential of Santa Cruz trails, MBOSC and the mountain biking community. A good foundation.
Emma - the master trail builder - with Keith Kelsen - the founder of MBOSC.
Beer is the fuel of mountain bike advocacy. Emma and Tom Ward discuss state wide issues. Big ideas. A great partnership.
Mission Accomplished! Now on to the after party...
