Board at the Home
Prasanthi and Karthik posing with the fruits. That is Murali's car. Many thanks to him for the lift.
Satyakrishna's friend Ravi at the gate. Ravi is our silent member. He contributes occasionally to projects.
From Left to Right) Satyakrishna, Ravi Shankar and Ravi at the portico.
A vessel with flowers.
A beautiful rangoli and a vessel filled with flowers.
Hall
View of hall from the main door.
View of the hall from the kitchen. See the urine bag. Most of the old people carry it.
View of the hall from the kitchen. Ravi is the one who is taking pictures from that end. Most of the old people there use walkers. The lady with the walker calls Naga Chandrika garu as mother. It is not easy to understand. We could not follow properly.
Naga Chandrika garu explaining to us about her experiences. The book in her hand is published by govt. It contains the list of old age homes and orphanages. Sangitha and Prasanthi are also seen in the photo.
This is the view of the office room. See Baba's photo. He is the guiding force for Naga Chandrika garu. Satyakrishna is the one on the left.
Solar Lakshman and Naga Chandrika garu. The girl in the chudidar looks after the home. She was also a depressed person and now she recovered. The service personnel are also seen. They are listening to our conversation.
The suction device. This is used to remove phlegm.
Clear photo of the suction device. Fruit packets are also seen.
Dr. Bala Sreenivas is explaining us about the working of the device. There is a tube that is inserted into the mouth. One bottle exerts pressure while in the other the phlegm gets filled.
A quote in the hall. Almost all of us objected saying that it is vice versa also. No gender differentiation, you see :)
An old woman. She worked as a teacher. She taught primary school children. She cannot see properly. She is 88 yr old. Naga Chandrika garu complains about these teachers :) They do not listen and in turn threaten :)
Ravi Shankar with old woman. She has also asthma and legs problem. She has energy to talk but we could not understand properly
She is an old woman with asthma. She got the motions problem from the moment she saw the death of a fellow inmate. By the time we visited the home, she was given bath three times as she excretes on the bed itself.
He is the old man with sugar problem. He was taken to his home and he fell there. The leg was bandaged but full of puss. Doctor told that the leg has to be removed. They will amputate the leg in this week.
She is also a teacher. She also threatens the service personnel. She is so mischievous :) that she doesn't take food, doesn't walk. When Prasanthi told her that as she is a teacher she should walk and inspire others to do so, she replied that she walks with the help of Walker. Immediately Naga Chandrika garu mentioned that she walks but to bathroom only. She also does not take food.
Naga Chandrika garu with the good old teacher :) Theirs is a petty quarrel similar to that of a mother and child. Hats off to Naga Chandrika garu. No one can do such a service with so much love and care.
He is the depressed man. Observe he is not looking at us. He is immersed in his own world. If his paranoia is at its peak, he stands still at a place. He will not budge an inch as if he is an idol. They have to literally tie him off to the bed and feed the food. Interestingly he is in the same room with the persons who have the paralysis problem. He doesn't talk with them also.
Another old lady. She has sugar problem. She didn't talk with us. She is too lean and too weak.
He is another paralysis patient staying in the same room with the depressed man and another paralysis man. This person is very very active. He is wishing us happy new year. He is the happy go lucky man. He always listens to hindi songs. He worked as a hindi teacher. Though he could not speak well because of paralysis, we understood his words. He gave shakehand to all of us. He teased the depressed man saying he doesn't talk. When Prasanthi asked him if he tried to make him t
These three ladies are the service personnel of the home. They seem to be very patient women. They say that the old people and they mingle very well that they miss them even if they have to go out for a day. They take two days leave in a month it seems.
The articles listed there are the required items in the home. Would be great if we can provide them.
All of us are smiling. This is when we were leaving. Murali and Maruti were cracking jokes and we were looking at Solar Lakshman and Naga Chandrika garu.
Maruti insisted Naga Chandrika garu to mention the day to day requirements as well and anything that would be of help to them. He is very much impressed. Prasanthi is noting while Naga Chandrika garu is saying.
The caretaker and the service personnel at the main door. They stood there as we called them for a photo.
