After over 12 hours of journey, we already were late by 3 hours. Our train had to go back to Warsaw so we were ordered to change train in Klodzko, Sudetes. This is our second locomotive.
man's work..
Klodzko, "small Prague"
After 14 hours we arrived to Kudowa Zdroj, near Czech border. There are some nice old buildings.
Nice location for discount.
Czech bus goes to Kudowa Zdroj and back to Nachod on Czech side. Ticket is very cheap.
Passing the border. 5 months ago we would be stopped by border guards to check ID's. Since December 2007, Poland and Czech Republic are in Schengen area, so there is no control. Those buildings are empty now.
Ceska republika..
Railway station in Nachod. Car on the left is combined with locomotive.
Nachod is more densed than Kudowa Zdroj - its Polish sister city. The main promenade..
Nice design for bench.
Interesting buildings in Nachod.
English beer in Czech??
Probably the city hall
Castle on the hill. We had no time to go there.
Near market place
Back at the station. Somewhere beyond this hill is Poland.
Trains have names. This one is "babicka" = grandma; we also saw Tom and Jerry
Small trains ~ "light rail"
From Nachod to Prague we traveled by 3 trains and one bus. Here we are in Hradec Kralove, before our last train to Prague.
We are in Prague. Surprise - there is no single free place! We were in about 40 hostels and budget hotels. We eventually found a room in Czech Inn hostel. It was luxury but too expensive for us, so we stayed there only one night.
We had a room at the last floor, just under the roof.
If you have plenty of money to be spent, I recommend this place. It is really nice, modern hostel in antique building.
There were 2 double rooms, which share kitchen and bathroom.
Unpainted concrete walls, also in bathroom.
We had room B upstairs; room A is downstairs.
We are out of money, but we have some snacks and beer;)
We had back doors from our room to this terrace
View from terrace
This is the building occupied by Czech Inn hostel. We are going to the city.. More in the second part, soon. Stay tuned.
