Spring trip to Prague part 1 - Rail travel + hostel
We planned to go to Kyiv, but have eventually chosen Prague because travel by train to Kyiv and back to Warsaw would take half of available time; we had 4 days of "long weekend", while travel to Kyiv thru Lviv takes about 24 hours. The change in plans occured about 12 hours before depart! We left Warsaw by "Karkonosze" train in the evening of Wednesday. It was awful journey, one of my worse.. The crowd was so huge, that people stood everywhere. It was almost impossible to go to toilet; of course there also were passengers.. We succeded to take sitting places but in first class, so had to pay extra money. In our compartment we had small child, dog, cat and overheat, which could not be turned off. The train should go 11 hours - it was late by approx. 3 hours - so 14 hours and only 550 km. Never more! On Thursday noon we were in Kudowa Zdroj - Polish/Czech border town in Sudetes. We passed the border by Czech bus to Nachod, and then travel by train-train-bus-train to Prague. More soon...
