Piaw wasn't smiling because he didn't like the bed-bugs (even if they liked him...).
... Mondo Bimbo?!
It was hot, and there was ice cream... and then there wasn't ice cream.
A beautiful building spotted between the trees while ascending Passo Mendola
Climbing away from our very good hotel near Passo Mendola.
It looks a bit like the world ends right at the railing!
Man these clouds are close to us!
Descending into the cloud!
Mike gets a flat!
... and now we have broken TWO steel-core tire levers!
Mike found out that this bit didn't work well when inside his tire... Oops!
I don't know what this sculpture over the bike path was supposed to be... so, of course, I took a picture of it!
This was a long tunnel... at least 1150 m!
Given the way the motorcycles were driving, these signs were wholly expected...
Is there any doubt who I am?
This family sheltered us during a thunderstorm! Very nice people!
We learned just after this photo that these kinds of clouds are NOT poofy and cute, despite appearances.
Roberto: “Mike, you think its rainin'?”
BAAddd Totoro! Why you make it rainy-like and thundering-like over our helpless little heads?!
Bus.. Sad... 'nuff said.
Mike doesn't care, because he'd already used up his nuclear bombs while climbing in front of me....
What? No nukes? Damn! I'll have to take this nuclear warhead mount off of my helmet, then!
A fast descent witha beautiful backdrop..
This forcast was surprisingly correct, unfortunately.
Surprise! The person running the internet cafe is the person in this photo!
PIZZZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Totoro is snuggled up happily in the crook of Mike's arm. Kawai!
The internet-cafe girl was (quite a bit) cuter than me.
This was one turn and about 10 minutes before the sky opened up and hailed on us!
Hail! Oh Joy!
Uh.. that was hail.. and we descended through it. Ick.
Italian engineering at its absolute finest! This bridge was built to stand the test of ti...
Up and to the right!
Marmolada
Lots of pretty flowers on this side of our hotel!
Interesting courtyard shape for a church, eh?
... If there was a cow jumping up there...
Big or small endian? Either way the lilliputian bells ring with joyful sounds!
This mountain was reddish, while all those around it were grey.
Now that makes sense-- A covered skii-lift. Wish they had those when it rained in Tahoe..
Heee Hawww!
The horizontal lines of this mountain were fascinating to me.
The perspective changes of the mountains here were fascinating. Unfortunately this video doesn't show the effect very well..
Mike thinks: I'm to sexy for my jersey.. too sexy for my...
Is that a truck-caravan?
No, actually, it is a train!
Look! I made it to the top before Piaw!
First we see Piaw...
Now we see Piaw -AND- Mike!
... and I thought that they grew flies big in Brazil!?!
... Here are the results of a sudden front-flat while descending.. I wasn't very happy to see Mike do a forward-somersault combo with asphault landing... Piaw scores it a 8.9 (one bonus point for flipping a fuly-loaded touring bike!).
I wonder if this snake is going to make it to the top of the hill before I do?
Another descent.. This time I'm trailing Mike to ensure that he makes it down safely.
My bell is better than your bell, cow!
Mike fixes another flat. At least it was slow this time...
When I say its -MY Pizza-, I mean it!
Happy Mike!
Look how asking the waittress for a photo puts a funny smile on her face! (Will this make Rekha jealous?)
Frankenmike!
.. Oh, and I get to grin a silly-grin too! I wonder if -this- will make Rekha jealous?!
The side of the road had lots of (windblown) pretty purple flowers.
It is difficult to see from this picture, but these flowers were amazingly bright-red.
Who is going to stop and tell this horse that you're supposed to be on the right-hand side of the road?
This side is well done...
But this side isn't! Mike! How did you (only) burn the left half of your left leg?
This hotel room was like Google, but without any of the common sense-- you could see through the window (outside) into the shower, and via the shower into the bathroom...
