A wheelchair ramp built into the stairs? Malaysia is ahead of the U.S. in a few ways. Or maybe just that one.
Generic-brand chocolate stick = Awesome
This map, in the Melaka Kite Museum, was a bit off. Check out the Golden Gate Bridge. Looks more like the Great Wall.
This huge lizard was just roaming around the ruins in Melaka. It was somewhat terrifying.
Artsy shot of the Petronas Towers, taken from our bus into Kuala Lumpur.
Sara at the Batu Caves. This was an amazing Hindu shrine, built into this gigantic rock outside of Kuala Lumpur.
In addition to an amazing shrine, there were free-roaming monkeys. Amazing.
Interior of the Batu Caves.
The caves were dripping with water all throughout.
A shrine in the Batu Caves.
Looking down from the Batu Caves. The main shrine area is situated over 200 steps up!
Kuala Lumpur in the distance.
This monkey straight-up jacked a little kid on the steps, with its baby monkey in tow. It happened right in front of me, and the kid's dad actually tried to retaliate against the monkeys, while also trying to get the crackers back. Good luck.
I wonder if this monkey even knows what he is holding.
Just like at the Hindu shrine in Singapore, this one was adorned with hundreds of small statues of Hindu dieties, all around the various parts of the shrine.
My home away from home.
Petronas Towers! They actually didn't look very tall at all, at least when I thought about looking up at other tall buildings.
From the skybridge at the Petronas Tower. The one and only tourist attraction to which I dragged Sara. I promised her afterward that we wouldn't do any more, what she calls, "stupid tourist attractions."
Nuff said.
