Me and the iconic TV Tower in Shanghai. It was tall.
Wannabe Mickey and Minnie grace an event with their presences in our hotel.
Of course, Coca-Cola and other Coke products are the best refreshment to enjoy during your visit to the site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party in China!
Another shot of the Communist site. Felt kinda like Mao's version of Main Street in Disneyland.
Fun times getting ready to be had in the Shanghai aquarium.
The exhibits in the aquarium were actually pretty good, complete with a moving walkway under glass a la Marine World Africa USA.
Interesting exhibit, where you get to view the amniotic sacs of sharks.
Dag, yo. Them's some fightin' teeth.
Yes, of course: if I buy one, I would expect one!
This burger was no joke; it was delivered exactly as it was advertised!
Old Shanghai. More like fabricated Shanghai. Or at least, it seemed that way.
The Coffee Bean below this building, and the various other chain stores at the base of the old-style buildings, definitely killed the "Old Shanghai" atmosphere.
The nighttime decorations on the Old Shanghai buildings were really elaborate and interesting.
More pretty decorations in Old Shanghai.
A beautiful dance number at the "Fashion Miniature of History" show, in the OPT Theatre.
The costumes were beautiful, and the music and dance was great.
The finale of the "Fashion Miniature of History."
Ah, how enlightening one's sense of shame can open up so many possibilities!
The original plans for the Ohel Moshe Synagogue in Shanghai.
Beautiful glass Star of David, inscribed with the story of Genesis in Mandarin. Quite amazing.
Another view of the glass star.
A sculpture donated to the synagogue called "Exodus."
From the outside, you would have never been able to tell that this building is a synagogue. It is unmarked by anything notably Jewish.
Another view of the synagogue. If it were not for a guard standing outside of the site, we might not have found it, since it has no other indication that it was a synagogue.
