The Forbidden City! I was worried they wouldn't let me in, you know, because of the name and all.
Mao, the poster boy for the Cultural Revolution. I tried to see his embalmed body, but to no avail.
Inside one of the temples inside the Forbidden City. Reminded me of scenes from "Hero," a Jet Li movie that takes place in the Forbidden City.
The monument in Tiananmen Square. It made me miss democracy a little.
Mao's mausoleum. Seems like a lot of effort and construction for one guy.
Memorial to the People in front of Mao's mausoleum. So far, both Communist countries we visited (Vietnam and China) had the same kind of styling on these sort of statues.
The 798 district in Beijing. Formerly a factory area, it is now a blossoming art district, with many galleries.
The UCLA Store! Talk about awesome. And frickin' expensive.
Most of the products in the UCLA Store were priced between $50-100, putting the products decidedly outside of most UCLA student budgets.
Another view of the store. The sign is the logo UCLA spent $98,000 on designing.
It was awesome to see UCLA in a mall directory. That's when you know your university has TRULY made it in the world.
