Ascending one of the lines we had put up the day before.
Dave's beard was approaching a 0.7 on the Grizzly Adams scale.
Voytek with his fancy, insulated alpine rock climbing shoes.
Almost done ascending the line we fixed during the storm the day before. The weather on this day was defying reasonable expectations.
Two of an experienced French Canadian team of three who passed us on the route.
Hanging out with Voytek was always a good time.
I was still a little shaken from my fall a few days ago, so I was a little slow on my first lead of the day.
After a while I started loosening up.
Historically good weather on that day.
On the summit! Managing the ropes before checking out the view.
It was around 10pm.
A view into no-man's land off to the west.
North.
East. Notice the shadows of the towers projection off into infinity.
On tippy top of the giant pointed summit boulder we spied when we did the Monzino route. Success!
The rappel onto the summit on the the section of scrambly terrain. The base was 2000' straight down over the ledge at the top of the photo. It would be a long night.
Ten full length rappels under a quiet and moon-bright sky, and three hours of down scrambling brought us to our high camp at 3:30am. We spent some time rehydrating and eating and crawled into our sleeping bags around sunrise. Voytek left before we rose the next day.
