Columbia Bottom C.A. - Paulz hike to take 'macro' images after meetup group event

The St. Louis photo meetup group met at the Visitor Center at 10am. An employee of the C.A. talked for about 20 minutes about what to see in the area and shared photos she took of eagles and monarch butteries that she was raising from caterpillers. Mac and Matt did a great job of setting up examples of macro photography, explaining various technology and techniques and answering questions from the crowd.
After the event, I drove to the confluence and walked trails for 5 miles in 3.5 hours - taking as many 'macro' pictures as I could. I took 350 images of which I narrowed down to 72 images that I published here.
I used a Canon PowerShot S5 IS, which I consider a high-end point-n-shoot. The 'super macro' mode gave me pretty good depth-of-field for a point-n-shoot. With better equipment, I could get even closer to the object and still stay in focus.
