Loading an Empty Cartridge

Director of photography Vilius Mačiulskis is sharing his knowledge on how to load the empty super8 cartridge. Follow the steps and PAY ATTENTION to the film rolling directions (clockwise/ anticlockwise) and the position of perforation (up/down). You are going to do it in the total DARKNESS of course so practice on an empty film before starting. Good luck! yours RasaJ

Editing Table in Tree Lab

Yesterday TREE LAB community celebrated the opening of the editing table. 16mm editing table was placed in first floor and there is a plan to move the developing corner here too. Thanks to editing table TREE lab reached another level as a DIY film lab. The table can be used as a editing table of course, as a preview screen and also a tool for making prints. Champagne!

WORM lab, cats and fish in Rotterdam

Mid Autumn Super 8 Picnic in a Hand representatives were invited to learn 16mm techniques. By courtesy of Esther Urlus Rasa and Egis spend 3 weeks in residency in WORM film laboratory in Rotterdam. Worm organization (cinema +club+ record shop+ audio + film studios) is celebrating 10 year anniversary. It is a multifunctional and at the same time very specific art and music center. WORM film lab run by a 16mm DIY guru Esther Urlus is a place worth to sink in: “After declaring celluloid a dead medium, filmmakers have saved equipment from the modernising powers for projection, development and recording, creating a free port for authentic filmmaking”

8mm svečiuose pas Meką

JMVMC - “8mm” kino festivalio 2007/08 rinktiniai kadrai; 2007 bei 2008 metais Kaune buvo organizuoti du super 8 kino festivaliai. Parašiusiems (festivalio paskelbta tema) scenarijus dalyviams buvo išdalintos super 8 kino kasetės. Po savaitės išfilmuotos juostos buvo grąžintos organizatoriams ryškinimui. Autorius savo filmą išvysta pirmą kartą festivalio metu, jau didžajame ekrane. Penktadienio vakarą bus rodoma 2007/08 metų rinktinė festivalio programa. Kino tylą užpildys gyvai atliekama muzika. Nemokamas renginys vyko Kovo 13 d. penktadienį, 19 val. Jono Meko vizualiųjų menų centras (galerija), Gynėjų g.14 (Vilniaus vartų kompleksas), Vilnius
