MUGS, JORUMS, CUPS AND TEA BOWLS
There's something about a container used for drinking and sipping! First of all, the outer walls define the look of the piece, be it a mug, cup, jorum or tea bowl - this is what calls to us and makes us want to experience more... like a fuzzy kitten, we have to pick it up. Once in the hand, it is the feel of the piece and not the look which takes over and makes us want to drink from it; we imagine caressing the rim with our lips as we consume our favorite liquid refreshment from the emptiness inside. So, we are drawn to something which is of use to us because of what is NOT there as well as what is there....Fascinating!
