Presented by Five 6's Taxi & Centennial Bank We would like to announce Duval "UNCORKED" raised over $2,600 for our charities St Mary's Star of the Sea Foundation and MCC's Cooking with Love in 2011. Announcing our 2012 charity "Samual's House Inc." Key West's famous Duval Street will be electric as the Key West Food and Wine Festival hosts "Duval UNCORKED" tantalizing revelers with a mile long wine tasting, food sampling and shopping extravaganza. This Key West Food and Wine Festival party promises to be the event that can’t be missed. Duval Street’s chic boutiques, funky shops and fine galleries will flow with a large selection of wines from famous wine regions while the neighborhood’s best restaurants will be serving samplings of their signature dishes. Toasting, tasting and shopping will be infused with the gusto of Key West’s personalities, performance artists and other sexy and sophisticated spectacles.

Grand Tasting 2012

Turtles and Sharks and Mermaids, OH MY Grand Tasting From the finesse of finer wines to the frivolity of fishnets, this feast for all the senses could be our GRANDEST tasting yet. Join us from 5pm-7pm at the historic Key West Aquarium at Mallory Square. Originally opened in 1935, the Key West Aquarium is home to sharks, turtles, stingrays, tropical and other fish found in the beautiful waters of Key West. Our 2012 Grand Tasting will showcase a selection of finer wines presented by our local distributors and scrumptious hors d'oeuvres created by four local celebrity chefs; Chef and cookbook author Paul Menta, Executive Chef Michael Schultz of Fin, Chef Kevin Montoya of Tavern N Town, Chef Richard Tallmadge of Cole's Peace Bakery and Mark Certonio, proprietor of lush bar. The sexy troupe of Fancy Pants Entertainment will amuse and entertain as they bring the sea to life, all to the backdrop of the engaging exhibits of the Aquarium. You might even get to pet a shark!

Eco Discovery Aquaculture Seminar

David E. Vaughan, PhD Executive Director of the Mote Marine Tropical Research Lab Aquaculture, also known as aqua farming, is the farming of fish, crustaceans, mollusks and aquatic plants. Our presenter David E. Vaughan, PhD, Mote Marine's Key West aqua culturist is also a culinary adventurer and will be serving Farmed Sturgeon Caviar for you to taste and, of course, a sip or two of bubbly. Visit the Florida Keys Eco-Discovery Center on Friday to learn more about Aquaculture, how it affects commercial fishing and the National Marine Sanctuary, and how it pertains to the food that we consume.

Boisset Family Estates Blending Seminar

Deirdre Conley will host a blending seminar for you to compete with others to create a proprietary blend made from with traditional Rhone varietals of Grenache, Mourvedre and Syrah. He will help you understand the characteristics of the grapes to help you choose the wine for your blend. Once finished, you will be provided with crayons & paper to design your label and strategize how to market your wine developing an image and a name. 16th Annual Master Chefs Classic: 4 to 7pm on Sunday, January 31st, 2010 The 16th Annual Master Chefs Classic, held at the Westin Resort & Marina, is the premier culinary tasting and competition of the Lower Keys. Whimsical Cakes and Magical Mimosas

In this demonstration, you will learn the best techniques used for covering cakes with rolled fondant and move on to the more advanced methods of fondant design. These will include crimping, embossing, draping, quilting, texturing, and coloring. Bows and swags will also be covered as well as other techniques as time permits class. Following the demonstration Joey will serve his famous tropical pineapple coconut carrot cake.
