Mr. Bluebird. I never got bluebirds at my feeders until just this winter. I'm excited about it -- his lady friend also frequents the feeders, but she remained in the shadow further to the left, so I didn't get any good pictures of her.
Looking right at me!
This is Mr. Hairy Woodpecker. He has gotten pretty bold over the past couple months: I can do all sorts of things in front of the kitchen window and he doesn't seem to care. He'll keep right on eating.
On the right is Mrs. Bluebird, but it was tough to see in the shadows.
Mr. Woodpecker with a red (sorry, "house") finch on the nijer feeder to the right.
This is an extreme closeup of a chickadee at the window feeder.
Here's a shot of the window feeder. I'm about 5 feet away inside my kitchen.
And there's the chickadee. I've been trying for 3-4 days to get a shot of a bird on this feeder, this is my first one!
A tufted titmouse was grooming himself on this perch. He kept raising his head quickly, then continuing grooming. I attempted about 10 times to get a shot of his head up...and the camera kept catching his head down!
Until this one!
Someone was back at the window feeder!
I think this is Mrs. Bluebird, but the light got messed up here.
Tufted titmouse back to grooming.
A nice shot of him.
This is MRS. Hairy Woodpecker. I've seen this occur several times: Mr. Woodpecker comes to eat, eat, eat...and only after he's finished does she come by. And she'll stick around for a while, too.
