"You think? I couldn't get my hair to match the doll's, ha ha!"
Patricia Vollmer
"It's AMAZING!!!"

"Nah... he's too young to need a catcher's mitt yet -- we'll wait a little bit. If we can get a used one that's already been broken in, then maybe."
Patricia Vollmer
James Marusak
"did they change what can be used for a catcher's mitt since I played, or is he just more comfortable using a regular one behind the plate?"
James Marusak
"Panning is trying to move your body with the subjects body at the same rate.  The subject is then in focus but the surrounding elements are nicely blurred.  Try practicing with the boys going past on their bikes or scooters.  I don't do this well at all but I recognize the effect intentional or happenchance.  "

"I was at Sea World in the mid 70s:-)  I remember it was fun.  "

"Suggestion for next time too is to take this shot and then one high, one low, one left, and one right.  Or even a 3 high, 3 middle, 3 low series so we can stitch them together for a large pano.  I just LOVE the colors and water reflection here!  "
Maryann Goldman
"Ha ha -- not sure at all how to do that."
Patricia Vollmer
"Way cool!"

"I'll have to blog about it, but we had season passes to Sea World when we lived there in 2002-2005. I think we had passes in 2003 and 2004. Very inexpensive for military. Anyway, the Shamu shows back then were full of education, the handlers gave us so many facts about orcas and how they are trained/cared for. This time, ZERO educational facts, instead pleas for environmental stewardship (which I don't mind at all), and mostly splashing the audience.

I get the feeling audience feedback drove that change."
