We're moving into a 1984 Fleetwood manufactured home (a trailer by any other name) Don't know what in the weird slats on the front porch were meant to accomplish. They're gone now and after the inside is finished I plan a 12 x 24 covered deck on the front.
The back yard has a couple of small storage buildings and a huge screwbean mesquite tree. The lot is 100' x 175'. The old guy who used to live here gardened almost the whole lot, but it's now all gone to tumbleweed and goatheads.
Another view of the front. There are two nice pine trees in front of the master bedroom window. I put up a couple of birdfeeders outside the window yesterday.
Here's the view of Turtleback Mountain at sunset from our front door.
We've got the paint for the outside, but it won't get painted for another month or so.
Does this carpeted wall scream early 80's or what?
That's the previously carpeted wall at the back. I sheet rocked right over the carpet and mirrors.
The original kitchen. It's much bigger than the Charles Street house.
I tore out the top cabinets over the breakfast bar, took the cabinet doors off and Annie painted the cabinets. I'll make new doors for the existing cabinets later this winter. I also plan to put in a new counter top and sink, as the existing stuff is funky (but usable). You can see the new tile floor we put in.
The dining area in the Kitchen. Note the vinyl wallpaper.
Here's the "after" shot of the dining area
Another angle
Our new master bedroom looking back down the hall toward the living room. I put bamboo on the floor and we painted the walls a sage green.
The original master bath. The tub surround is green painted plywood. That's got to go at some point.
Looking from the bedroom into the bath. Annie wants to put some Mexican Tile we found at a yard sale around the mirror.
Annie says Hi! We'e got all the essentials moved in and just need to spend a week cleaning our our previous digs.
The kitchen is starting to look lived in.
Our new cat, Esme.
The new deck seen from the new entry way.
Entry
Note the purple frames on the lattice. Annie thought it was a little bright at first, but she's gotten use to it.
Built windows for the entry today (1/1/11) but haven't got them painted or shutters built for them yet.
From the driveway
I put a 4x4 in the ground and screwed some branches to it to hang a couple of birdfeeders. The come three times a day like clockwork for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
