SSMLC Diwali Dinner & Gala 2011

Swar Sadhana Music Lovers Club organized first Diwali Dinner Gala on Friday, November 4, 2011 at Shingar Banquet Hall - Brampton. About 200 people participated in traditional festival celebration with music and dance and favorite DJ Nishith, everyone danced on the floor till mid-night. A professional family photo session, delicious food and Bollywood theme musical mood sets the tone for a perfect evening. Swar Sadhana Navratri Raas & Garba 2010 on Saturday, October 9,2010 @ Ontario Soccer Centre

SWAR SADHANA MUSIC LOVERS CLUB NAVRATRI RAAS & GARBA 2010 Yet another successful event was organized by Swar Sadhana Music Lovers Club. Navratri Raas & Garba 2010 The Festival on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Ontario Soccer Centre. The venue was fantastic and most eco friendly for family environment. The event was attended by more then 2000 people from all over the GTA including well known community groups such as Panchal Samaj, MGM, Bhavsar Samaj and supported Swar Sadhana in making the event successful. The evening was full of traditional costumes and Raas-Garba dances with various different styles that truly represents rich cultural. Such noticeable styles are Dodiya, Sanedo, Ramzaniyu, Hinch and most famous Dandiya Raas. A musical group of Swar Sadhana with veteran artists Kalpak Gandhi, Meena Dalvi, Ashok Dutta, Nishith Pandya, and Tanmay Sharma.At the end, lots of prizes were given away for Best Dress, Best Action, Best Couple, Best Senior, Best Kid

Culture of India - Personality Development Competition and series of performances

Indeed, it was very successful event yesterday on Saturday, September 18, 2010 @ Lester B. Pearson Theatre, Brampton. Over 72 kids participated in the competition (Story telling & Essay Presentation) and approximately 63 students performed in the afternoon cultural program. Also, the book `Culture of India` was inaugurated by the honourable mayor of Brampton Susan Fennell. We thank you all the students and parents for their support in encouraging our children to participant in such cultural activities. We extend our special thanks to the judges and all the back stage supporters for their prompt support. All the students who passed the exam in June-2010 received the Trophy and Certificates for their respective level.

Swar Sadhana Vocal Contest 2010 - Grand Finale

SSMLC has delivered yet another full house event The Grand Finale of Vocal Contest 2010 on Sunday, July 4th at the Rose theatre, Brampton. The event was full of Dances, Comedy along with Finale Vocal Contest. The program was hosted by Jay Bhavsar & Jenita Thakore and started with series of non-stop energetic performances with the 2009 winner Dr. Bharat Sharma followed by Comedy sequence Ketul & Nirali. The finalists Mohit Bhatnagar, Ferzana Bohra & Varun Shukla presented their powerful performances to compete for the title of Swar Sadhana IDOl 2010. Ferzana Bohra was declared Swar Sadhana Idol 2010. The Chief Guest and presenting sponsor of the event Hon. Mayor of Brampton Susan Fennell had been kind enough to grace the occasion and to pass an appreciating impression for the organisers and volunteers for their hard work contribution in the development of cultural community. The Mayor was accompanied by the City Councillor Mr. Vicky Dhillon and Mr. John Sprovieri.

The Swar Sadhan Vocal Contest 2010 Round-6

Another exiting Round # 6 of Swar Sadhana Vocal Contest 2010 completed on Saturday April 10th at Lester B. Pearson Theatre, Brampton. “Masti-Toofan” was the theme where all the participants sung energetic Bollywood songs. Mohit Bhatnagar was declared the singer of the day and out of three bottom contestants, Judges chose Nilesh Leuva for the elimination. A non-stop 2.5 hours of comedy sequences of 3 idiots acted by Jay Bhavsar, Ketul Raval, Himanshu Merchant and the host Jenita Thakore kept every one connected. Under the guidance of Shelly Patel, the students of Swar Sadhana Music School presented energetic dance routines wowed the audience. City Councilor Mr. Vicky Dhillon graced the event and motivated every. Swar Sadhana Vocal Contest 2010 Round-5

Swar Sadhana Vocal Contest 2010 completed 5th round with the theme of Basant Bahar on March 20th at Lester B. Pearson Theatre. It was an official first day of the spring and celebrated with Singing, Dancing and Comedy for 3 hours of non-stop entertainment. The guest of honour Asmaji from Generation Next News Paper and Mr. Devang Naik from TD Canada trust graced the event. All the participants sung theme based bollywood songs and Ferzana Borha was declared the singer of the Round 5 while Irita Karmalkar was eliminated from the contest. The Swar Sadhan Vocal Contest 2010 Round-4

Swar Sadhana Music Lovers Club is completed on Saturday, Brampton with combination of Music, Dance and Comedy. The function was graced by the Editor of South Asian Focus Mr. Sunil Rao as the chief guests and the City Councillor of Brampton Mr. Vicky Dhillon. Both have appreciated the activities of Swar Sadhana Music Lovers Club and whished good luck to the participants and performers. The top nine participants presented songs on Romantic theme and judges declared six of them safe. The bottom three participants received yellow cards and given another chance to perform. The programme was hosted by Mr. Ketul Raval and Mrs. Nirali Panchal reflecting their ability and skill. Swar Sadhana Vocal Contest 2010 Round-3 & Swar Sadhana Annual Day

Mr. Vicky Dhillon – city councilor graced the event and congratulated every one for the great cause and their efforts. Swar Sadhana Music Lovers Club organized yet another successful event of the Vocal Contest 2010 (round 3). Indeed, it was house full of music lovers celebrated Indian Republican Day. All the contestants sung Indian Patriotic songs and presented an example of true cultural diversity. The round # 4 with Romantic theme is scheduled on Saturday, February 27, 2010. Swar Sadhan Indian Music & Dance Workshop 2010

At Swar Sadhana, we organize semi-annual workshops to motivate and encourage people to learn Indian classical music & dance. During the workshop, we provide guidance for various offering courses and curriculum information. At the same time all the workshop attendees gets an opportunity to meet with our faculties in person and experience the Swar Sadhana Music School learning environment. At the end of the workshop, each attendee receives a certificate for completion. Anyone who is interested to explore opportunities of learning or enhancing Indian Music and Dance. Consulate General of India and Swar Sadhana Music Lovers Club jointly organised a wonderful concert of Indian light classical music of Ghazal, Thumri, and Dadra which was witnessed by nearly 200 music lovers. The artist was a veteran Indian Classical vocalist Shantiji of Banaras Gharana and a disciple of late Begum Akhtar, a legendary vocalist of India .Shantiji started her recital by thumari in the raag Khamaj followed by Dadra chij in the raag pilu. Then she presented various Ghazal's in classical style and reminded of her master Begum Akhtar. Her soul-stirring performance was supported by talented accompanists Mr. Manoj Nagar on Tabla, Mr. Vinay Mishra on Harmonium, Mr. Ghanshyam Sisodia on Sarangi and Mr. P.K.Thakore on Tanpura.The consulate general of India Mrs. Preeti Saran had been kind enough to grace the occasion. The director of SSMLC Mr. Jay introduced the artists. The audience gave a standing obation to the artists.

Summer Semi Annual Day July-19-2009

At Swar Sadhana, the semi-annual day event occurs once a year. Each student gets an opportunity to perform live in front of the valued audience. This year we have more than 60 students from different levels will perform during the semi-annual day function. All the students and parents must plan to reach 30 minutes in advance. Susan Fennell Mayor Of Brampton Presents Vocal Contest 2009

SWAR SADHANA VOCAL CONTEST 2009. Nishith Pandya who showed immense confidence on stage was the 1st Runners-Up and Shalom Patrick, the youngest participant was the 2nd Runners-Up. Master of Ceremonies Jay Bhavsar & Jenny Thakore kept their humor and helped run the three hour show full of quality vocals, dances and comedy, in a graceful manner. In addition to singers, talented girls from the Nirtya Kala Mandir performed exceptional backup dances to support the vocal contest finalists. Finally, a special devotional dance performance by Swar Sadhana teacher Mamta Bhavsar & Shelly Patel. And Bijoy Anand Shivram from India, served to conclude the evening before the final results were announced. The Grand Finale was the Council General of India in Toronto Hon. Mrs. Preeti Saran who praised the efforts of Swar Sadhana Music Lovers Club - a not-for-profit organization based in Brampton that helps promote Indian music, dance and culture and provide quality entertainment to the community.

Swar Sadhan Vocal Contest 2009 Round # 5

The theme of the round was Mothers Day celebration. All the eight contestants presented songs devoting the mother. The mothers from GTA are invited to join this occasion and many ladies joined the event and enjoyed. Every contestant called own mother and those whose mother was not present called other respected lady, expressed their feelings for the mother and greeted creating emotional situation. Two contestants are eliminated in this round and the remaining six will participate in the round # 6 scheduled on Saturday 23rd May 2009 at Lester B. Pearson Theatre. The event was made live with the dramatic presentation of the hosts Jay Bhavsar and Jenny Thakore. Miss Maharshi Bhavsar performed the dance reflecting the event of Krishnalila as guest artist. THE VOCAL CONTEST 2009- ROUND # 4

Another successful event organized by SSMLC. The round #4 was completed on Sunday, April 12, 2009 at Lester B. Pearson Theatre, Brampton. All the contestants sung highly energetic bollywood item numbers. The program was made full of comedy bhaigiri drama by Jay & Jenny with the support of Ketul & Nirali.The event was graced by the honorable chief guest Gurbax Singh Malhi – MP of Bramalea-Gore-Malton. Mr. Malhi gave an encouraging speech motivated every one to maintain our richly cultured heritage and appreciated the team of SSMLC and Swar Sadhana Music School for providing valuable contribution to the community in the development of our cultural and presented an Appreciation Certificate to the Executive Director Mr. Dhanesh Bhavsar. THE VOCAL CONTEST 2009 - ROUND #3

Swar Sadhana Music Lovers Club has successfully organized The Vocal Contest 2009 – round # 3 - A Holi special round on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at The Lester B. Pearson Theatre, Brampton. All the contestants sung wonderful Holi songs and entertained every one. The Host Jay Bhavsar and Jenita Thokore managed the stage dramatically and created an environment of Bramgadh village with colors and live movement of villagers and kids kept the event lively. The guest performer Vandana Viswas sung a wonderful Mira Bhajan from her upcoming Album. Also girls from Nritya Kala Mandir and Swar Sadhana Music School performed colorful energetic dance attracted the audience. The chief guest Vicky Dhillon’s presence made the event even more valuable. At the end of the show the judges’ Shri Dhanesh Bhavsar, Sonal Vala and Bhavik Salat declared the bottom five contestants of the evening and only two of them were eliminated from the contest.

THE VOCAL CONTEST 2009 - ROUND #2

Swar Sadhana Music Lovers Club has completed the second elimination round of The Vocal Contest 2009 event on Monday 16th February 2009. About 18 participants performed wonderful Romantic songs. Over all performance is enjoyed by everybody in the audience. Mr. Irfan Ali and Mr. Phillip Patrick presented two songs as guest artists. The students of Swar Sadhana Music School Miss Maitri & Mruga Makwana performed dance. The programme was hosted by Jay Bhavsar and Jenny Thakore in a dramatic way to create the whole event live. Based on critical evaluation by the respected judges, three contestants are eliminated. The remaining 15 contestants will move on to the next round. The eliminated contestants will remain the part of Swar Sadhana family and they will be promoted for the future events of Swar Sadhana Music Lovers Club. The next is round #3 on Sunday, March 15, 2009 @ 1-00 pm. at The Lester B. Pearson Theatre, Brampton. The theme the next round will be Holi Songs.

THE VOCAL CONTEST 2009 - ROUND #1

Swar Sadhana Music Club, A Non-profit Organisation, has organised a Live Contest to search an Indian Vocal talents in GTA. 20 contestants were selected form series of primary auditions at Brampton, Scarborough and Mississauga. There are seven elimination rounds in total. The first elimination round is completed on Sunday, January 18, 2009 in which 19 contestants presented Indian Patriotic Songs. The program started with a wonderful dance on Vande mataram sung by Sonal Vala and choreographed by Mamta Bhavsar by Students and faculties of Swar Sadhana Music School. The event was hosted by Jay Bhavsar and Jenny Thakore. The city councillor Mr. Vicky Dhillon had been kind enough to grace the occasion as chief guest.Vickyji was very impressed with the theme and cause and strongly requested to the organizers to avoid any eliminations in the first round.The audience and all the contestants agreed and thank Vickyji for his kindness. Now, the elimination will take place from second round.

Over 700 people enjoyed 5 hours of non-stop Garba and Raas ramzat. At the same time Vickyji and Rubyji have inaugurated the first poster of our upcoming event “The IDOL Contest 2009” - A search of Indian Vocal Talent in GTA and motivated all the team members of Swar Sadhana Music Lovers Club to continue provide platform and opportunities for our community in city of Brampton. 2008 SUMMER WORKSHOP

At Swar Sadhana Music School, the third successful semi-annual workshop was organized on July 12-13, 2008. to motivate and encourage people for learning Indian music & dance. This unique two-days workshop was designed to provide guidance on Vocal, Tabla, Bharatnatyam, Keyboard/Harmonium, Flute, Sitar, and create opportunities to experience Swar Sadhana’s learning environment. More then 60 people of all ages have attended different sessions of their choice. At the end of the workshop each attendee received a certificate of completion. HEMANG MEHTA - CONCERT

Shri Hemang Mehta is an accomplished Classical Hindustani Vocalist. He hails from the Mewati Gharana which specializes in the lyrical gayaki mode. Hemang has been profoundly inspired by the renowned maestro, Padma-Vibhushan Shri Pandit Jasraj, and has received intensive training from his senior disciple, Shri Chandrashekhar Swamy. Hemang excels in the high watermarks of the Mewati Gharana such as, meend, layakari, kan-gayaki and proper bandish presentation. To Hemang, his ambition to reach the pinnacles of our rich musical heritage has sparked off an undying, endless and untiring state of riyaaz. Hemang is gifted with a voice that is musical to the core. The depth and range of his repertoire places Hemang among the finest young vocalists of India today.

KANKANA BANERJEE - CONCERT

Kankana Banerjee: Born in Kolkata of a business family, Kankana Banerjee inherited a keen sense of music from her very childhood and had early lessons of Classical Hindusthani Music from her mother who was a disciple of Late Tarapada Chakravarty of Kolkata and Late Pdt. Ratan Jhankar of Lucknow. Her mother is the eldest daughter of Late Dr. Radha Kamal Mukherjee, eminent thinker, sociologist and Ex-Vice-chancellor of the University of Lucknow. Accompanied by: Sri Dhanesh Bhavsar – Harmonium He is an executive director of the Swar Sadhana Music Lovers Club and the owner of Swar Sadhana Music School, Brampton. He is a shagrid of the Great Legend Ustad Zakir Hussain and studies with him regularly. Kiran performs with Intramental, Vocal, Kathak Dance and also performs tabla solo. 2007 SUMMAR WORKSHOP

Swar Sadhana, arranged a semi-annual workshop on July 28-29, 2007 at our Brampton Campus. The purpose of the workshop was to motivate people for Indian classical music & dance and provide guidance for various offering courses and curriculum information. At the same time all the attendees got to know our faculties and experience the Swar Sadhana learning environment. Workshop: · Date: July 28th and 29th of 2007 · There were total 4 workshop sessions, arranged 2 sessions each day. · Each workshop session had 4 separate break-out sessions of Vocal, Keyboard, Tabla and Bharatnatyam · Each break-out session was conducted by an individual faculty · To make it more productive, each break-out session was designed to have maximum of 5 students during the workshop. Our Success: Swar Sadhana is thankful to all who attended and supported in making the workshop successful. Swar Sadhana appreciates all the parents for encouraging their kids to learn the quality Indian music and dance.
