2010 Annual Anniversary Mass for Married Couples

ANNUAL ANNIVERSARY MASS FOR MARRIED COUPLES Celebrant - Bishop Steinbock at Holy Spirit Church in Fresno All married or engaged couples throughout the Fresno Diocese were invited to attend to celebrate and renew marriage vows. There was special recognition for married couples celebrating anniversaries of 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 + years of marriage by receiving an anniversary certificate at the light reception following the Mass.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS

Artist, Mark DeRaud, painted the 14 Stations of the Cross displayed on the northern walls inside of the church. There are 14 traditional stations following the path of Christ from Pilate's praetorium to the tomb.

San Diego 2006

San Diego Chargers football players Lorenzo Neal, Aaron Shea and Philip Rivers teamed with Holy Spirit Parish in a fundraising event organized by Men's Club members Richard Fairbank and Gary Joseph. The event included a morning of golf at the private Fairbanks Country Club in Southern California followed by dinner at the beautiful home of Susan and Steve Parker.

NFL SAN DIEGO CHARGERS & HOLY SPIRIT

Members of the San Diego Chargers NFL football team came to Fresno to take on the Roznovsky Family in a fun day of mini sport competition and dinner. This was the result of a winning auction bid by the Roznovskys at the Men's Club Casino Royale 2005. Chargers taking part were Jamal Williams, Kasim Osgood, LaDanion Tomlinson, Lorenzo Neal, David Binn, Shane Olivea and MikeScifres

Hall Construction 1989

Mr. and Mrs. Spalding Wathen and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wathen donated the land for the parish complex. A groundbreaking ceremony was held July 9,1989 with Most Reverand Joseph Madera, Bishop of the Diocese of Fresno, CA. The multi-purpose parish hall was completed on April 1, 1990 and was used to celebrate Mass, hold social events and conferences for the next 11 years.

HOLY SPIRIT BEGINNINGS

Holy Spirit Catholic Church was established in April 1981, when the parish boundaries of St. Anthony of Padua and Our Lady of Perpetual Help were realigned. We started with around 400 families under the leadership of Monsignor James Logan. Initially, Holy Mass was celebrated at Fort Washington Elementary School, and later was moved to Clovis West High School due to increasing growth of our parish community.
