Reuse-A-Shoe
The library's vestibule is the drop-off site for your worn out athletic shoes or your gently used shoes of any kind. We are teaming with SWALCO and Nike to recycle old athletic shoes, which will be broken down and ground up into other things like carpet pad, running tracks and a variety of other durable products. We are also working with a charity that helps people in need by providing shoes of all kinds that have been gently used. Previous years victims of the Joplin tornado and the Haiti earthquake have benefited from the these donations. The Round Lake Library is collecting shoes for both programs through the month of April.
