My favorite German word! It means “exit” and it's pronounced “ows-fart.” :)

James and Rob with our Fiat Punto, the car we were given as a replacement for our tired-out Audi. :(
I LOVE this cool building. We see it on our way into Berlin when we drive (most of the time, we take the U-Bahn).
I think this is such a cool clock! I found it first as an Opera widget, knew it was in Berlin, but never found it until this trip. It's right on the KuDamm outside the Europacenter in a little corner. The top circle blinks ever second, the top bar indicates 5-hour increments, the next indicates 1-hour increments, the next 5-minute increments, and the last bar, 1-minute increments. What time was it when Rob took this picture?
This line, two cobblestones thick, runs through Berlin where the Berlin Wall (“Berliner Mauer” in German) used to stand. I almost got hit taking this picture.
Beth, James, Rob, and Linden in next to the Jewish memorial (near the Brandenburger Tor)
This trash can is dressed up like a soccer ref (note the black jersy, whistle, and red and yellow cards). “Einwurf” means “throw in,” just like soccer players throw in the ball when it goes out of bounds. Ha ha. :) d
Rob chillin' in the shade while the rest of us finished viewing the exhibit at Topography of Terror.
Trabis were the occasion: Beth the photographer, James and Rob the models
Linden, Rob, Beth, and James in front of Checkpoint Charlie.
We stumbled across this interesting piece of art on our way from Checkpoint Charlie to Unter den Linden. What do you think the story behind it is?
The famous Mr. Red Ampelmann and...
his friend, Mr. Green Ampelmann

The dome of the Berliner Dom, the famous “Fernsehturm” (TV tower), and a beautiful street lamp.

The Neptune fountain dwarfed (ZWERGED!!!) by the Berlin City Hall
Berliner Dom: I sat on the lawn in front of this and ate, wrote, and people-watched while Beth and James went to some nearby museums. It was blissful.

Look how tiny this matchbox is! I don't know who would buy them, I don't know that you could actually use them, but they're so cute and tiny. :D d
Interesting statue behind the Berlin Hauptbahnhof. Parts of it rotate, which obviously does not show in the picture...

Look, Topher! They have Dunkin' Donuts in Berlin! (Taken at the Zoologischer Garten U-Bahn stop.)
We searched for cheap coffee. Then Beth set it on the roof of the car, which was apparently angled too much to hold the cup. Beth was sad.
Rob driving the Volvo
Beth's knife holder: creative!
The cladded BMW we saw on the Autobahn! It's a 2010 7 series, according to the research James did on the Net. (We have more pictures if any car magazine wants to buy them! ;)
Took on the way home from Berlin. Wow.
