The local DIY store cut the plywood (for the cornice) to the size I specified. I assembled the pieces, wrapped it in poly batting to soften the edges and then stapled the fabric around it.
This was the second sofa purchased to fit into the bonus room. The first sofa was a little too long and wide to fit upstairs so it was returned and this new one was purchased.
As you see, it went in with inches to spare.
The sofa is in comfortable, a 5x8 area rug was added for softness underfoot. As you recall, the homeowners decided to completely upgrade the room by replacing the carpet with hardwood.
I returned to mount the cornice board. Silver upholstery nail heads in the couples monogram add a punch of style to this board.
Jonathon Adler wall sconces with linen shades were mounted behind the sofa. The two ottomans were custom made for additional seating and storage. I could not resist adding silver nail heads on all four corners. It was just the right touch.
The recessed wall and the built in shelves are painted in SW Dapper Tan while the walls are in SW Macadamia. The ceiling fan was replaced with wood tone blades. The chair is on coasters designed for hardwood floors. The fabric resembles leather but is actually in a very soft and wearable PVC material.
The homeowners art was recycled with a new frame. Shelves for the African mask are covered in the same wallpaper as the wall for a three dimensional effect.
One wall remains open so the client can add to their collection of art when they find the right piece(s). The new console and TV complete this well designed office/lounge.
If you're looking of the Rowells, you'll probable find them relaxing here.
