"Do the flowers just stay open one day Grant?"
Nancy Mumpton
"Thanks for the info Grant. I'll put mine in sun too."

"I wondered if you were not getting your comments on Picasa. Thanks for the info on this one. I'll add it to my list of "Grant's Plants I Want." I really do have that list!"

"Thanks so much! I just slop all purpose tomato fertilizer on it every other water or so, with occasional bloom booster too. Nothing elaborate, just when I think of it. Great luck with yours!"

"Full hot sun. They adore it all winter and right around now (early May) they suddenly turn yellow and lose their foliage until November or so. Full sun seems best for them. Thanks!"
Grant Meyer
"Thanks!"

"Hah! I'll save it of course, why not, right?? I'd love a pic of yours too!"

"Hiya Nancy, for some reason picasaweb stopped EMAILING me comments, so now I'm using the photo album view to see them, so sorry for the late reply. The main plant dies a few years after blooming, but it takes awhile so it actually lasts for a nice long time. By the time it does die, it has made babies, grandbabies and great grandbabies making this big clump, so the whole clump never dies. Every now & then one of the old rosettes dies but to the gardener it just feels like you're grooming off some leaves."

"Thanks so much!!"

"Thanks, Nancy! It was really an afterthought but I thought hey, it's a digital pic which is free, why not keep it, LOL. Thanks!"
Grant Meyer
"Hah! This is a hybrid between H. funifera and H. parviflora, so it's inbetween size of those two common types. I had a massive clump of H. parviflora in this spot but dug it out and divided it. You're probably right, that it will outgrow this spot. If so, I'll dig it up and drag it someplace with more space, LOL. Thanks for looking/commenting!"
Grant Meyer
"Thanks, Nancy, glad you like it. Such easy, fun plants as you know. Happy gardening!"
Grant Meyer
