May 2007. Goldilocks (mom) and her 4 yearling cubs (Enie, Meenie, Miney & Mo) relax in the meadow next to our house. The steel cable wrapped around the tree is attached to our cement cistern cover, which is now also chained down. The yearlings decided the cistern cover made a fun toy and collectively dragged it off last week. Mo likes my dog's basketball. She later ran off into the woods with the basketball. The basketball (flat and chewed up) was returned to our yard by another bear, Robyn Hood, in the fall of 2007 .
Enie and Miney inspecting the Pool.
Mo and Miney. Mo is trying to figure out how to bite down on my dog's basketball so she can take it into the woods (along with the soccer ball, jolly ball, kong toy, garden hose, garden hose reel, and my gardening tools that she nabbed earlier that spring). I had no idea bears could be such thieves!
Playtime. Is there room for one more?
Un'bear'ably Hot. Enie, Meeny & Miney trying to fit into my doggie's swimming pool. No room for Mo (cub #4).
