Signed E - an Eisenberg mark (see “Costume Jewelry 202“). This is the “Pink-White-Gold" version - this naming the color of the orbits (the area just outside the circular pupils) first, the area immediately outside the orbits second, and the beak and other raised lines third. All signed versions are enameled, this on goldtone. L 3.3“, W 1.65 oz. Other Pink-White-Gold examples sold for $32 on eBay (11/07) and for $76 (9/08). Many of these "E-Owls" came with a snake chain. Some had matching earrings, a bracelet, or a matching ring. There are probably from 9 to 11 different color schemes, and each of these are very consistently colored. Auction photographs can greatly distort colors, for example changing a green to a yellow. An all black piece has been seen for auction but it appears to be secondarily painted. There are also some unsigned pieces of the same design that are not enameled.
Signed E (Eisenberg). L 3.3“, W 1.86 oz. Enamel on goldtone. The ”White-White-Black" version. Perhaps the most common of the type. I have seen over 15. Price variable - one sold on eBay for $64 (4/08).
Signed E (Eisenberg). L 3.4", W 1.70 oz. The White-White-Gold version. Much scarcer than the White-White-Black version. Sold for $33 on eBay (7/08), $60 and $80 (10/2012).
Signed E (Eisenberg). L 3.4“, W 1.86 oz. Goldtone & enamel. This "Red-White-Black" color combination is the most desired of the type, though not the most scarce. Usually sells on eBay for over $50.
Signed E. Enamels on silvertone. L 3.3“, W 1.80 oz. The Red-Gray-Silver version. This is the only version on silvertone, and is probably the most rare of the nine versions.
Signed E. L 3.3“, W 1.70 oz. Enamels on goldtone. The Blue-White-Black version. Sold for $43, 8/08. I have seen with matching ring and earrings.
Signed E. Enamels on goldtone. L 3.3“, W 1.81 oz. The Turquoise-White-Gold version. Sold on eBay: $36 (10/07), $126 (9/08), $113 (5/13). Did NOT sell when offered for $45 (6/08). With earrings: $80 (6/08).
Signed E (Eisenberg). L 3.3", W 1.84 oz. The "Chocolate-Brown-Gold" version.
Signed E. L 3.4“, W 1.99 oz. Enamels on goldtone. The Green-Blue-Gold version, slightly larger than other color variations.
Signed E. Auction photograph. The Tan-Cream-Gold version. The colors in this photograph could be a distortion of the "Pink-White-Gold" version previously illustrated. If not, this is perhaps the rarest color version of this series.
Auction photograph. Signed E. The green-cream-gold version. Very rare if not just a color distortion of one of the above versions (the turquoise-white-gold version).
