River Dart Oct 2011

Rich N, Tom, Gazza, Nigel, Ian and son, Andy A, Martyn and Jane, tackled the dart on sunday. A couple of swims and good water level. Rich and Tom were there on sat and did the upper, it was low, technical and those rocks bloody hurt along with 3 impressive self rescues, (poor Rich).

Symonds Yat to Monmouth

Richard, Jane, Andy, Andy Ferg, Phil, Chis, Derry paddled symonds yat to monmouth. We joined poady and family for a short while at the rapids. It was busy and shallow. Unfortunatley no-one got wet, despite having the camera ready, The weather was excellent. It was ice and peaceful, then all of a sudden the reatures were startled; Richard and his wind problem arose. The peace and quiet was shattered. Jane was not amused.

River Usk 06/02/2011

A couple of us tagged onto Stroud Canoe Club`s trip down the Usk for a short way before making our own way down to Crickhowell. It was nice, big and bouncy, (which reminds me, I wonder if Nancy is free). If we had nice sunshine, clear blue sky and nice blue water, you could mistake it for the alps.............................................

North Wales weekend jan 2011

Budding kayakers Ian, Nigel, Matt B, Matt W, Nick, Tom, George, Gareth, Richard, Christine and ooh Jane (sorry), had trip to north wales. Everyone went up friday night and paddled the Tryweryn on saturday. There were no reports of any fatalities....... Richard joined saturday night, as he had Day Skool. It was a nice warm summers night for a barbeque.... -8C and bloody freezing. Loads of Beer and Guinness. Richard entertained with his jokes........ On Sunday we paddled the Dee, it was a good paddle we got on by the activity centre place and paddled the canal upto the serpents (i think that`s correct) tail and got of just below horse shoes fall in the town.

Dart November 2010

Twelve Budding paddlers, yes twelve, kayaking the river dart, a good turn out but split into 3 groups......Main group, Jane, Alice, Christine, Nigel, Andy, Martin, Matt and me (richard). Tom and Emrys had dissappeared...Tom and Matt Ward, (news shocker was on time....) went ahead. We all paddled the middle loop. No Fatalities (unfortunatley), couple of capsizes, don`t worry nigel and andy I won`t mention your names and loads of eskimo rolls from me.

A group of budding kayakers and keen virgin kayakers went to the dart this weekend. loads of fatalities on saturday, none on sunday good weekend in all. The food was ace. Beer was better. And severe lack of proper skirt....

Melte

On the 7th of September, after a week of rain, George, Tom and Gareth went down the Meltle again. Despite their best efforts no bones or boats were broken this time. Not a bad start to the season at all! Some of the more sedate club members settled for the Usk. Orange and white boat- George. Yellow and black- Tom. Red- Gareth

Alps

Jane, Christine, and Richard went to the alps this spring. Exremely high river levels and the death of a guide the previous week led to a full paddling ban being in force. The group got some paddling in on a slalom course elsewhere.
