Well! here starts mountains and rivers.
Enroute to Almora.
First glimpses of snow peaks.
First halt- Deenapani
Evening at Deenapani
ALAS! Only one sensory organ could enjoy.
So near the road to tempt you to pluck and eat, but just...just a little far,
Climbing up to Binsar through Pine Forests
Collecting expensive material from Pine
on way from Deenapani to berinag
I want to walk....let the car go Away!
From Berinag towards Thal.
Thal is a town before Birthi Falls
Birthi Falls , second stop-----falling down from 125 Mtrs.
From Birthi to Munsyari.
Climbing up on Kalamuni Mountain
Stepped farms en route Munsyari
Munsyari was all covered in Clouds and it was raining.
So we drove to Darkot Village to enjoy rain, drenched mountains, and gorges of Gauri Ganga.
School at Darkot Village. If i were to be a student there, I would never like to pass out.
Rachit enjoying River, Mountains, gorges and above all RAIN
Views from School at Darkot Village. He wished if he could study there.....but that was a Girl's School only.
Gauri Ganga originates from Milam glacier, runs down to Munsyari and further on
While coming back from darkot vilaage, clouds started to clear and slowly and slowly..........emerged
Now, all five of them are visible.
It was all so mesmerising.........rain, apprehensions that we would not be able to see Panchchuli, praying in your hearts to have just a glimpse if nothing more, and then
ALL of them become VISIBLE.
And by the time we reached Munsyari, it was evening.
LAST RAYS OF SUN ON PEAKS.
A CLOSE UP
Getting down kalamuni
Again ,on popular demand, we stopped at Birthi Falls, played in water and kids did not want to leave.
From Birthi,we had to go on till Chakori.
en route we stopped, went to this bridge. It was raining and down the bridge, river was flowing furiously. And it was just after a day's rain. What a drama to unfold in monsoon!
From Birthi to Chakori, it rained intermittantly.
When we reached Chakori, our fouth stop, clouds again drifted and we had glimpses of wholr range.......for a few moments.
We went to see Musk Deer farm from chakori.
Farm was OK but the 3 KM trek was beautiful. We spotted a few birds even in Afternoon.
Another Short, beautiful trek from Chakori.
All glowing in Evening light, after a short but beautiful trek full of many Birds.
Dense forest adjoining the Hotel at Chakori
Grass for animals is stored like this so that it will not get wet in Rains.
Step farms, will turn green in a weeks time as seeds are already sown
I so dearly wanted to see the Mountain Rains!
And God did us the favor.
From Chakori to Jageshwar, it rained like cats and dogs, pouring HAILS of the size of small oranges.
And they were so many, all along the road.
Jageshwar_ a temple complex amidst DEVDAR forest, our fifth stop.
"Dhwaja se ye khade huyen hain Vriksh DEVDAR ke"
From Jageshwar ,we descended down towards the end of our trip- SATTAL
Tanmay in Rowing Boat - going mad at the prospect of playing with so much water
