“There's not enough sneaking around in movies these days.” It's not an elopement if someone's not shinnying down a drainpipe. Best we could do was this French window. Photo by Jerry Oltion.

Busted! “How dare you make off with my innocent & pure sister!” Left to right, Ximena, Rob, Bridesminions Scott, Graham, and Kat, and Julian Cearley, cast to type as the Bride's Brother. Photo by Jerry Oltion.

Not penniless! Rob hands Ximena's brother a penny. “Oh, well, that's all right then.” Photo by Alvin Cearley.
All is well! Going to meet the minister. Little do we know... Photo by Alvin Cearley.

Oh No! The Minion of Honor has been mugged! The Evil Train Overlord has stolen the rings! L-R: Bridesminion Graham Clark, Bridesminion Scott Buchanan, Minion of Honor Kat Meyer, Bride Ximena Cearley, Groom Rob Vagle, Bride's Brother Julian Cearley, Minister Damon Kaswell. Photo by Alvin Cearley.

I know an Evil Train Overlord who's having way too much fun foiling the forces of True Love. Eric asked how melodramatic we wanted this, and we told him to take it to the wall. He came through in spades. L-R: Eric Witchey, Pianist Rebecca Oswald. Rebecca did the soundtrack live. Truly outstanding work. Photo by Alvin Cearley.

Scott and Graham keep him covered while Kat retrieves the rings. Yes, the rings really were on that train the whole time. This photo also shows the tracks Damon got “tied” to. The horror, the horror! Oh, the humanity! L-R: Kat Meyer, Scott's hat, Graham Clark, Rob Vagle, Julian Cearley, Ximena Cearley (behind Julian), Tom Gray. Apparently Julian and I have the same natural dramatic instincts--these gestures were not specifically rehearsed--you'd never guess we were related. Photo by Alvin Cearley.
The ransom note arrives via paper airplane. We were fortunate in our personnel--Eric not only designed and built the train layout and did all this acting, but he also was able to build a paper airplane that would actually fly. This worked better in rehearsal than it did live, but that's showbiz. Foreground: Eric Witchey. Middle Ground, front row L-R: Kat Meyer, Rob Vagle, Julian Cearley. “He's not penniless!' Ximena hands Julian a tuppence, provided for the occasion by Scottish Bridesminion Graham Clark. Photo by Alvin Cearley.

“This isn't a penny! it's a tuppence!” “Well, there are two of us now.” The angle of this photo is wrong but I have it on good authority that my brother and I gave each other the two-fingered salute at this exchange--another unrehearsed, unintended piece of serendipity. Since we're Americans, Graham had to point this out to us afterward. I gather it was hilarious. Photo by Alvin Cearley.
Now we're REALLY going to get married. Defeating the Evil Train Overlord brings voice back into the world, so we can actually speak our vows. But the vows were still projected onscreen so that (a) the audience could follow them and (b) we could crib. Yes, that's glitter on the bride's back. And arms, and hair... L-R: Scott, Eric, Graham, Rob, Ximena, Damon, Kat, Julian. Photo by Alvin Cearley.
The vows begin. Damon is the only one on script because his back is to the intertitles the rest of us were cueing from. With the defeat of the Evil Train Conductor, voice, if not color, returns to the world, so we can speak our vows. To Infinity and Beyond! Completing our vows brings color back into the world. The guys were very generous in supplying shirts they didn't mind being Velcro'd into for the heroic tearaway effect. It looked great on stage. L-R: Damon Kaswell, Scott Buchanan, Graham Clark. Photo by Jerry Oltion.

World's Greatest Wedding Posse takes a bow. L-R: Chelsea Dacus, Eric Witchey, Graham Clark, Scott Buchanan, Damon Kaswell, Ximena Cearley, Rob Vagle, Julian Cearley, Kat Meyer. Completing our vows brings color back into the world and the guys stripped off their dark shirts to reveal the tie-dyes. Julian simply wore his madras tux jacket under the black one. We're applauding pianist Rebecca Oswald. The guys lined up by height is totally coincidental as far as I know (they may have arranged it among themselves) but it looks great. Photo by Alvin Cearley.
